"You know, this is partly your fault too, Vega. If you hadn't encouraged Beck and me to take part in this dumb game show thing, we might still be together!" Jade says in anger. "I'm sorry, Jade. I had no idea that this would happen," I reply, and she huffs, crossing her arms over her chest. Then, for some strange reason, when she looks back at me, I can see more than just anger in her ocean blue eyes, but I can't explain it. Almost as soon as it happens, she's already stormed out of the auditorium, and I soon follow her out. Since it's the end of the school day, she's likely headed to the parking lot to get her car and go home. I recently got my own driver's license, and I have a rather old, loud, and slow truck that my dad and I had found once that he couldn't help but stop to check out. It was for sale at a relatively cheap price, as the owner explained that he just didn't have the room to store it anymore. Long story short, Dad bought the truck and restored it, then gave it to me to drive. It's the middle of winter, which means that there should be sand or salt or something on the pavement so that no one slips on some ice and hurts themselves. I spot Jade a short distance from me, her anger having yet to have subsided, judging by her posture.

Moments after I spotted Jade, her right foot slips on some ice, and she falls to the ground pretty hard. She's not moving, either, making me start to worry about her. I carefully but quickly make my way over to her to check on her, and I've almost reached her when I notice Beck's sleek black 70s Mustang heading right for her. Thinking fast, I shout at him to stop, waving my arms over my head. Is it the smartest thing that I could be doing right now? Probably not, but if it saves Jade's life, it's worth the risk. Thankfully, Beck's car rolls to a stop a short ways from Jade, and he gets out. Together, we help her into the passenger seat of her car, then I realize that someone has to take her to the hospital. "I'll take her to the hospital. Would you mind coming with me, then bringing me back here so I can get my truck?" I ask, and Beck nods, getting back into his car as I find Jade's car keys in her purse. I start the car, and a loud song is playing on the radio, but I couldn't care less about how loud it is or what kind of music it is right now. I drive out of the parking lot and over to the hospital, with Beck following me the whole way.

After Jade is brought to a room, Beck takes me back to Hollywood Arts so I can get my truck, and I spend the whole ride trying not to cry. Once we pull into the parking lot, Beck turns to face me. "She's going to be fine, Tori. She never stops fighting, trust me," he says calmly. "I just can't help but be worried about her, even though I know that if she was in my position, she wouldn't worry about me," I say calmly. "Eh, I wouldn't exactly say that," he replies, avoiding my eyes. "What makes you say that, Beck?" I ask him. "Because, believe it or not, Jade is nowhere near as cold-hearted as she might seem," he explains to me. "Beck, you know that you're one of my best friends, right?" I ask him. "How could I not?" He chuckles. "Good point. Anyway, can I trust you with a big secret of mine?" I ask. "Of course. My lips are sealed," he replies. "Okay. You know how I'm absolutely terrible at the whole dating thing?" I ask him. "Yeah. I've been wondering about that for a bit now," he replies. "Well, that's because... be-because... darn it, I thought that this would be easier!" I say. "It's okay, take as long as you need," he says, and I pause to take a few deep breaths. "Okay. What I was trying to say earlier is that the reason why I'm terrible at dating is because I'm a lesbian," I say, breathing out a long sigh of relief. "That means that you're into girls, right?" He asks, and I nod my head yes. "Wow. Who else have you told?" He asks. "Just my parents and you," I say quietly.

"There's something I want you to know about Jade, before you go," he says softly. "And that is?" I ask him curiously. "Jade is bisexual, so she's into both guys and girls," he says. "Huh. I had no idea," I say as I get out of the car. "Oh, and one more thing," he says, so I walk over to his window. "I think you two have a certain kind of chemistry," he says. "Wha - Jade and me?! Are you out of your mind?! Her and I could not be more different," I say. "You never know unless you talk to her about it..." he says cryptically, then he heads home. I get into my truck with a shrug and decide to bring Jade her keys back before I head home. I park my truck next to her car and head inside. Once I get to her room, I find her sitting up in her bed, watching something on the television, so I decide to put her keys back in her purse without disturbing her. Unfortunately, I also happen to be pretty clumsy at times, and I trip over my own two feet and fall flat on my face. I hear someone gasp from beside me, and then I feel myself being rolled over onto my back. Now laying on my back, the light from the room is shining right in my eyes, but not for long, as a familiar face blocks it out. "Are you okay?" Jade asks me. "Yeah. I didn't mean to disturb you," I say. "You didn't disturb me. I wasn't really even paying attention to the TV. I was too busy thinking about you," she says. "Wait, what?" I ask her in disbelief. "You heard me. I was thinking about you. Don't make me say it a third time," she says, starting to sound annoyed. "You must've hit your head pretty hard," I say offhandedly. "What are you talking about? I've thought of you since the day we met, when you spilled coffee on Beck," she says with a smile, and I don't know how to respond.
