Kokichis pov
Five years later
"owie!"
My head shot up at the sound of my little girl crying. I raced over to find Lexi on her knees crying into her tiny fists while her cousins tried to confert her.
"what happened here" I demanded.
"we were playing tag and Lexi tripped over the floorboard" rene explained.
"you were playing tag in the house? You kids should know better than that!" I scolded them.
"sorry uncle kokichi" they mumbled.
"mommy *hic* it's bleeding" she sobbed as showed me her scraped knee.
"aww it's ok baby" I said softly as I picked her up into my arms "we'll put a plaster on that and make it all better. Now come on sweetie let's go find daddy"
*time skip*
"what a mess" chihiro shook his head as he put the plaster on her knee "I hope this teaches you not to run inside lexi"
"don't scold the poor girl chi. She's already hurt" I sighed.
"I know" he turned to his daughter with a smile "but every injury is a chance to learn and grow. Plus when you overcome it then it shows how brave you are. Wouldn't you agree?"
"yep" she nodded as she wiped her tears away.
"good girl" chihiro petted her head "you're all better now aren't you"
"I always knew you'd make a great father" I hugged his arm.
"and your a wonderful mother" he kissed my lips softly.
"hey!" we looked down at our pouting daughter "I want kisses too!"
We looked at each other, chuckled and kissed either side of her cheek. Making her giggle.
I can't believe I have such a perfect family. My life started out so bleak but now I have a big brother, and awesome brother in law, a husband and the cutest little daughter in the world. I couldn't be happier!
