Scarlett's POV

I couldn't wait until my mom quit her job, er, well until she's supposed to be retired. We would then move back. I sighed and sat down on the couch. I totally forgot Max was with his short girlfriend, though I wonder how she came here and what for. . .

"Hey Scarlett how about we go to Paris for vacation?" My mom winked at me. Jeez now I'm annoyed.

"Mom, you already said we would go back for vacation!" I said raising my voice. Of course she just had to annoy me!

"Scarlett calm down, you know I didn't mean it," My mom said unconvincingly . I sighed and crossed my arms.

"Mom, I know you don't like Nick, but I do," I said exasperated. Ugh, can't she leave me alone for once and not talk about Nick while she's at it? "Trust me Mom, I know you'd rather have me date Max than Nick,"

I heard my mom walk away, but I could feel her staring at me, er, well my back. Jeez I can't make it anymore, I can barely breath anymore. Why can't I just leave? I'm going crazy if I want to leave, yupp I'm going crazy!

"Hey Scar, look it!" Someone yelled. I turned and saw Max. He showed me his neck and revealed a. . . No way! A hickey!

"Oh my god! Did short girl do that? She's pretty impressive!" I said approvingly. I nodded my head at the sight of it, but Max frowned when he heard short girl.

"Yeah, well," He said, his face was beet red and then he turned around. When he turned back he cooled down a little, but not a lot. Gosh, I just realized how easily he blushes!

I grabbed the collar of his shirt and brought him down enough so that our noses grazed. I chuckled at him and he blushed.

"Ahaha!" I laughed. "You fell for it! You should've seen your face!" I cried. Wow, I felt tears at the corner of my eyes, but they weren't sad tears, but joy.

"Scarlett! Don't ever do that again!" He said seriously. Then I shut up. His voice turned cold and something in the back of my mind told me to keep quiet.

"Alright, fine. Don't take it so seriously" I said playfully. Then I looked at the clock. "Hey Max, isn't Nick supposed to be here by now?" I asked.

"Uh, yeah. Why isn't he here?" He replied.

Then I heard my mom yell my name.

"Hey Scarlett! Nick was here to see you, but he left. Why?" My mom questioned me.

"Oh no, there's no way he could've saw us! It was only a trick!" I said. I gasped; my hands over my mouth. I looked at Nick and he looked nervous.

He saw me with Max, but he got the wrong idea.
