(Candice's POV)
I was looking over my shoulder the rest of the weekend but, didn't see Jeff again. J.J. asked my to tell her everything but, I just said it was my business and I wanted to keep it to myself. She pouted.
It was our last day and we were packing up. I put my hairbrush in my bag and looked around for my socks. "J.J. have you seen my socks anywhere?"
She looked up from her bag. "No. Let me check the living room."
She walked out and I went into the bathroom. I came back out and gasped, dropping my toothbrush on the floor. Jeff sat at my window. He tilted his head making me notice the bandana around his face. "Did I scare you?"
I frowned. "Yes. What are you doing here? J.J. might see you."
He shrugged. "You forgot these at the pool." He said, tossing my socks on the bed.
I crossed my arms. "You were watching me swim?"
He gave me an innocent look. "Maybe."
I rolled my eyes and grabbed my socks. I stuffed them in my bag and turned back to Jeff. "You need to leave before J.J. comes back."
He sighed. "But, I don't want to."
I was about to reply but, J.J.'s voice drifted closer. "I don't see them. Did you leave them by the pool?"
I saw Jeff leap out the window and dissappear just as J.J. walked in. I whipped. "Found them!"
She frowned. "O...kay..."
"They were under the bed." I said hastily.
She raised an eyebrow but, said nothing. I sighed in relief when she went back to packing her bag. "So, have you sorted everything out with... J.T.K.?" I hadn't told her his name.
I shrugged. "I don't really know."
"How do you not 'really know'?
"Sorry. We only talk a little." I mumbled.
We finished packing and brought our stuff downstairs. The car was already there so we handed our stuff to the clerks and they put them in the car.
We said our goodbyes to J.J.'s uncle and got in the car. We talked all the way back home and planned to have a sleepover next weekend.
We stopped in front of my house and I got out, grabbing my stuff from the trunk. I waved bye as the car drove away and then walked up to my house. I knocked on the door and my dad answered it.
My parents gave me hugs and told me to never ask to stay away that long because they missed me too much before they finally let me go upstairs and unpack. I dropped my bag onto my bed and sighed.
"I would have carried that for you."
I jumped and glared at Jeff who was sitting behind me. "How the heck did you get into my room?! You could give me a warnig next time!"
He chuckled. "Sorry. I just wanted to get to talk to you more."
I sighed. "I can't believe I'm not telling my parents about you."
I grabbed my bag and unzipped it while I asked, "So, what did you want to talk about?"
He shrugged. "Nothing specific. I just wanted to know more about you."
I blushed and slowed my movements. "Like what?"
Before he could reply, there was a knock on my door. He sighed at the interruption and I rushed to the door. I opened it only enough to peek out and see my mom. "Yes?" I asked, keeping her view of my room hidden.
She smiled. "I was just wondering if you wanted help unpacking?"
I smiled. "No. It's okay, I've got it."
She raised an eyebrow and tried to look inside my room. "You sure?"
I leaned into her line of sight. "Absolutely."
"Okay?"
"Thanks for asking." Then I slammed my door shut. I sighed as I leaned on it. Jeff chuckled. "You suck at lying."
I frowned. "Well, sorry."
I went back to my bed but, sat down instead of continuing with my unpacking. "Why don't you come back later? I'm a little busy at the moment and I don't want my parents to find out you're here. They'd freak."
He shrugged. "I suppose." He stood up and walked to my window. "I'll swing by this evening. See you later."
I nodded and watched him drop out my window and walk away from the house. I brushed my hair from my face and puffed my cheeks. This was getting really stressful.
Why am I even okay with this?
I still didn't know how he seemed to just get into places like it was nothing. He hadn't slipped past me and my parents earlier had he? No. He would have been seen.
I shurgged it off and went back to my bag.

I sat at dinner that night, my mind not even in the room. I was wondering when Jeff would get here. I don't know why I really cared but, I felt excited to see him.
I nibbled on my food and ignored my parents. They were talking about my dad's work or something. I placed my fork down and glanced at the stairs.
They were dark and quiet. I stared at them curiously, wondering what would happen if Jeff just walked down them right then and there.
Would my parents like him...?
"Are you okay, Sweetheart?"
I snapped my attention back to the real world and looked at my mom. "What?"
"You just seem a little spacey lately. Did something happen at the resort?" She asked.
I rossed my fingers behind my back. "No. I was just thinking."
My dad chuckled. "She probably met a boy and he asked her out."
"No!" I practically shouted.
Both my parents stared at me, eyebrows raised. I blushed. "I mean, why would a boy ask me out? Besides, I don't want a boyfriend."
"Honey-"
"Can I be excused?" I asked, cutting her off.
"Um... I suppose. Are you okay?" She called as I raced for the stairs.
"I'm fine!" I said.
I swung my door open and sighed. My room was empty. I went and peeked out my window. No one. I gave a mental prayer and sat down at my desk.
I flipped on my laptop and put my headphones on, blaring music while I played a game.
I need a distraction.
