I finished making breakfast and divided the amount onto two plates. Then I walked into the bedroom. I couldn't help but smile as I watched Jeff's eyes open a little at the smell of fresh french toast and eggs. "Morning."

He sat up and smiled. "I'll never get used to cooked food. Especially when it's cooked for me." He muttered.

I set his plate down and sat down next to him with my own. "Did you sleep okay?"

He shrugged. "As well as ever."

I had been debating how to tell him about last night's decision all morning and I still didn't know how to break it to him. I knew for a fact he'd object. He always told me before that going back was too risky.

I ate slowly, still thinking. I didn't even notice him staring at me until he said, "Is something on your mind?"

I paused and set my fork down. "Not... hm... Well, I was wondering if I could go visit-"

"No."

I frowned and turned away. "You don't own me."

"I may not but, if you don't want to find yourself back in that hospital prison, then forget about 'visiting' anyone." He said it coldly.

I clenched my teeth and stood up. "I'll wash the dishes." I muttered and left the room. As I cleaned off plates and utensils I took my time and kept thinking.

I could just go on my own. He can't tell me what to do.

I finished washing everything and went back into the bedroom. As always, Jeff had already left. I wondered if he was shopping or if he was killing. I could never tell.

I went about making the bed and getting dressed. If I hurried I could make it to my neighborhood and back long before Jeff got home. I had plenty of time to go say hi and then get back to make dinner.

I smiled to myself and quickly changed. I grabbed some cash in case I wanted to get lunch and headed for the door. This would be easy.

I grabbed my jacket and stepped outside. Just as I was locking the door a voice said, "I had a feeling you'd leave."

I whipped around, my heart racing. "Jeff, you jerk! Don't scare me like that!" I glared at him. "And what do you mean 'leave'?"

He sighed and scratched his head. "Fine. I'll go with you but, you have to trust me and do what I say." He smiled. "Okay?"

I shook my head and went back to locking the door. "Alright, fine."

We walked through the trees and I was relieved he didn't seem too upset with me leaving the cabin on my own. I expected him to get angry at me.

I couldn't help smiling the last time I tried to leave alone.

"Where are you going?"

"Just to the store. I wanted to see if they had anything on sale-"

"Are you stupid?!" He cut me off. "Your picture is everywhere. If so much as one person sees you they'd call the police. You can't go."

"But, I just-" I felt tears welling up.

"No! Stay in the cabin. I'll be back later. If you leave I'll find you." He said, his eyes narrowed in a glare.

"What are you smiling about?"

I snapped out of my memories and shrugged. "Nothing."
