She finally arrived home with tears threatening to stream down her face, but she wouldn't let them. Miranda headed straight to the shower so she could scrub the 'filth' off of her. She scrubbed, scrubbed and scrubbed , tears streaming down her face. Eventually the water went cold and her hands got wrinkly so she got out wrapped the towel around her and laid in the middle of the bed.
While laying in the middle of her bed she started thinking. About how tired she was, how lonely but not so lonely she was, how incompetent she was as a lover. Her stomach grumbled interrupting her thoughts. She sat up and walked over to her dresser drawers and pulled out a tee-shirt and some sweats to put on.
Once she put them on she made her way to the kitchen and made herself a bowl of noodles then walked over to the living, sat on the couch, and turned on one of her favorite movies, Why did i get married?
She eventually fell asleep towards the end of the movie.

1 month later
Miranda was at home getting ready for Ben and Callie to come over as they usually did. Any other day she would be fine but today she didn't want to be bothered, she was tired, hungry but not hungry, and her breast were sore. She knew if she expressed to them that she wanted to skip this movie night Callie would question her until she finally told her what was up. And she damn sure did not want to be questioned.
Her front door opened and in walked her two besties.
"Mirandaa we're here" Callie said cheerfully walking into the living room.
"Heyy, why are you so cheery?"
"Because i told her that if she beat me in Rock Paper Scissors then we could start a series" Ben said kicking his shoes off and getting comfortable on the couch, in her spot.
"well what series are we watching?" Miranda questioned walking to the kitchen to get snacks.
"we are watching umbrella academy" Callie said, but as soon as she said this her phone went off. Oh you have got to be kidding me!
"What is it?" ben asked.
"Probably the hospital" Miranda interrupted coming out of the kitchen and placing the snacks on the table.
"Yep" she said popping the p. I gotta go, pick a different movie and we can start umbrella academy a different time". She said leaving.
After Callie left Miranda got comfortable on the couch next to ben. "sooo what movie are we watching" she asked.
"nothing" he said nonchalantly, "instead, your going to tell me what's going on, and why you've been so distant"
"wha- what, i- i haven't been distant" she said knowing she was lying. He gave her a knowing look. " i- it's a long story"
"a long story that i'm willing to listen to, if your willing to tell me"
She tried to hold them back but the tears just started falling. Ben pulled her close and she immediately rested her head on his shoulder and continued to softly cry while he held her.
When the tears finally slowed down Miranda began to talk "The night of the train derailment, I um went to the bar to get a drink, and the next morning I woke up in bed with my ex husband." she sighed, and started laughing "And that's not even the worst part! I'm pregnant and he wants nothing to do with the child" still laughing she continued "And you know what he had the audacity to say to me! "Oh I would give you abortion money but you probably won't even make it past the 1st trimester " she said imitating tucker's stupid voice "like who the hell says something like that! And how the hell am I supposed to raise a child by myself?"
"you won't" Ben replied sincerely, answering her question.
"what?"
"You will have an incredible village to help you raise this child" he placed a hand on her belly. "You have Callie, Adele, Richard, and me" he said adding himself in confidently.
Miranda burst into a fit of laughter "what the hell do you know about raising a kid"
Ben joined in on the laughing, "Absolutely nothing, but neither do you so we're in the same boat"
The laughing died down, "thank you ben" she paused "for being here" and snuggled her face in the crook of his neck, "I feel so stupid for sleeping with him".
"You were intoxicated, it's not your fault he took advantage of you" He replied. "And I'll always be here M"
He grabbed the throw blanket and laid it over them.
