"Have you spent much time in Richmond for your book? There's such a wealth of history," Mayor Lockwood asked Elijah. She had decided to throw a tea party dedicated to his persona and the fact that he was writing a book about Mystic Falls' history. I stood on the other side of the room, making sure to keep my ears open to him, in case anything happened.

"No, I'm focusing mostly on the smaller regions of Virginia. Lots of research. Strictly academic." She commented on how fascinating it was, but I lost the rest of the conversation when my attention was diverted to Damon Salvatore walking into the room. Jenna immediately approached him, so I decided to listen in.

"Damon, what are you doing here?" She didn't seem too pleased to see him. A woman approached his other side and he gave her a kiss.

"Thanks for introducing us, Jenna," he said, nodding towards the brunette. I had gotten bored with their conversation and was just about to focus my attention on something else, when Damon left the two women, walking over to Carol and Elijah. While Carol's back was turned, I appeared beside Elijah, wrapping my arm around his.

"Elijah, I want you to meet Damon Salvatore," Carol said as she turned. She noticed me standing there and jumped slightly. "Oh, Ellie, I'm so sorry. I didn't see you there. Damon, this is Elijah's assistant." I smiled as I shook his hand, giving it a slight squeeze. "His family is one of Mystic Falls' founding families."

"Such a pleasure to meet you," Damon acknowledged, a hint of bitterness in his voice.

"No, pleasure is ours," I told him, glaring slightly. Elijah and Damon shook hands, staring each other down and I gave Elijah's arm a squeeze, warning him. After Carol Lockwood had left us to go greet some other guests, Damon nodded his head towards an office, silently telling us to follow.

"Let's keep this civil please. I'm wearing a nice and rather expensive dress. I'd rather not ruin it with blood," I told Elijah as we slowly followed behind.

"No promises, my dear," he whispered, placing a kiss on my temple. As we entered the room, I shut the door behind us, locking it to make sure nobody else accidentally wandered in. "What can we do for you, Damon?" Elijah asked as he walked around the desk, looking at the objects on it. I took a seat in the desk chair, crossing one leg over the other.

"I was hoping we could have a word. Alone," he glared over at me.

"Not happening," I said, faking a smile.

"Where's Elena?"

"Safe with Stefan. They're laying low, you know. Bit of a werewolf problem."

"Oh, yeah. I heard about that." I chuckled at Elijah's words.

"I'm sure you did since it was your witch that saved the day."

"They prefer to be called warlocks. And you are welcome," I piped in.

"Which adds to my confusion on exactly why you're here," Damon glared at me once more before turning back to Elijah.

"Why don't you just stay focused on keeping Elena safe and leave the rest to us." Elijah turned towards the door and I got up to go with him, but Damon used his speed to block Elijah's path.

"Not good enough," Damon smirked. I grabbed him by the throat, pinning him up against the opposite wall. He gasped as he reached out to grab a hold of my neck, but I pried his hand off, twisting it. He stared with wide eyes as I did.

"You young vampires, so arrogant. How dare you come in here and challenge us?"

"You can't kill me. It's not part of the deal."

"Elizabeth," Elijah warned, still standing by the door. I looked at him over my shoulder before my eyes flickered down to a pencil on the desk. Picking it up, I jammed it into Damon's neck, blood seeping onto my fingers.

"We're Originals," I told him as I walked over to Elijah, who had taken out his handkerchief for me to wipe my hand on. "Show a little respect." Dropping the cloth onto the desk, Damon reached for it, pressing it against his bleeding wound. "The moment you cease to be of use to us, you're dead. So, you should do what we say. Keep Elena safe," I smiled, wrapping my arm around Elijah's extended one and walking out of the room.

"What happened to being civil?" He asked as we walked through the room of people.

"That plan went out the window the minute he thought he could take you on. Stupid move," I smiled as he shook his head slightly.

"You know what the great thing about buckshot is? It scatters through the body. Maximum damage," the woman spoke, lifting the gun so it was pointed directly at Damon, who sat wrapped in chains in a chair. "Where's the moonstone?"

"Get over it, honey. You're never gonna get it."

"You looking for this?" Elijah asked, looking down at the moonstone in his hand. He moved away from his position against the railing and placed it on a book that was sitting on a table, moving away. "Go ahead, take it." I watched on from my seat on the railing as one of the wolves ran to get it, but Elijah was faster. He met the wolf half way, ripping his heart from his chest. Two more wolves ran at him, but he plunged his hands into their chests too and I smiled in excitement. As Elijah dropped the hearts to the ground, the last remaining wolf tried to hide underneath his jacket and I let out a small laugh, going over to him.

"What about you, sweetheart, hmm? You want to take a shot?" The man stood up, clearly scared. "No? Yes? No?" He shook his head.

"Where's the girl?" Elijah asked, looking over at Damon, who shrugged. "It doesn't really matter." Elijah punched the last wolf in the face, knocking him unconscious as I went over to Damon, ripping the chains off his body.

"So you realize this is the third time we've saved your life now?" I told him, smirking. He stared at me and I rolled my eyes, turning around and grabbing the moonstone on my way out.

So, in case you didn't get this from the title of the story, Ellie is an Original.

Elijah is so badass. I love it! And him :)

The picture at the top is to her outfit for the party, just in case some of you were confused. There will be pictures to other outfits in this story and the next book. ESPECIALLY in the next book. (I was making outfits for certain chapters and got a bit carried away :P)
