The sound of thumping woke me and I slowly lifted my head, looking around. My eyes widened upon seeing Elijah's body gone. Panic started to rise within me. "Elijah?" I called out, my breath catching in my throat as I gasped for breath. It felt like my throat was closing up; I couldn't breathe. My head started spinning as I struggled to get air into my lungs. "Elijah!" My body slumped to the floor as my eyes started closing. Just before they could shut completely, a figure came running around the corner.

Gasping for air, I shot up, eyes wide. "Shh, it's okay," a voice whispered, hugging me to them as I started to cry. I looked up and saw Elijah's face, dirty but calm. Throwing my arms around his neck, I hugged him tight.

"What happened?" I asked hoarsely, moving away and standing. We were in front of the Salvatore house. Elijah helped me into a car, ignoring my question. Elena came out to the car moments later, her purse filled with blood bags. I lied down in the backseat, grabbing the bag of blood that Elijah passed back to me. As soon as we were away from the house, Elijah and Elena started explaining.

***

"You guys look better," Elena commented, watching me sip the last of the blood through the mirror.

"How did you get the dagger?" Elijah asked from the front seat.

"I'll tell you everything. But we have to work together. I need your word." Elena twisted in her seat, having stopped at a curb, so that she could see the both of us and I leaned forward, so my head was in between the seats.

"Your ability to make demands has long passed," I told her.

"No demands. I'm offering you my help. And in return, I want yours."

"And why should we even consider this?" I asked, crossing my arms.

"The same reason that you haven't killed me. You need my help to kill Klaus. And I need you." Elena's phone started to vibrate and we all looked down at it. She hesitated before answering.

"Where are you?" I heard Stefan ask from the other end. "Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine."

"Where's Elijah and Ellie?"

"They're right here."

I grabbed the phone from her hand, "Tell Damon that the next time I see him, I will rip his heart out." Handing her the phone back, I rolled my eyes at Elijah's glare.

"Where? I'm on my way."

"No, Stefan. Elijah, Ellie, and I need some time alone."

"Listen to me. They can't be trusted. They'll use you to get to Klaus."

"They are both noble, Stefan. They live by a code of honor. I can trust them. They know that I'd be incredibly stupid to betray them again. By removing the dagger and setting her free, I have proven myself."

"You can't do this alone."

"This is my decision, Stefan. Please respect it. And make sure that Damon doesn't do anything stupid. I'll be in touch." Elena hung up the phone and Elijah held his hand out for it. When she passed it over, he put in the inside pocket of his burnt jacket. "He's here."

"Klaus is here?" I asked, eyes wide as I stared at her.

"He's taken over Alaric's body."

"Of course he has. One of his favorite tricks," Elijah told her, looking out the windshield.

"Well, what are his other tricks? What is he going to do next? You're the only ones who know him."

"Correction, only one. Elijah's the only one. I've never met him," I chimed in.

"Yes, I do," Elijah said quietly, a far off look in his eyes.

So I decided not to do the flashbacks. Mainly because they were Elijah's memories and the story is Ellie's point of view.

I made a really long speech, thanking all of you guys, in my Kili fanfiction. I'm not gonna repeat it here, so if you want to read it, then just go to Chapter 13 of 'No Place Like Home'.
