Slowly opening my eyes, I lifted a hand to move hair away from my face, but it was tugged back. Looking down, I saw that there was a shackle around my wrist, leading to a chain stuck in the wall. I had one on my other wrist and both of my ankles. Tugging on it, I tried pulling free, but found that I couldn't. I furrowed my eyebrows, looking around at the room I was in. It was a dark cellar with vervain growing in the corner and a body laying off to the side. Elijah's body. "No! Elijah!" I pulled on the chains again to get over to him, but quickly stopped when the door swung open, revealing Damon with a blow torch.

"Look who's awake."

"Don't you dare hurt him. I will kill you, Damon," I spoke through clenched teeth. Damon turned the torch on, blowing the fire at Elijah's body and I struggled against my shackles. He turned it towards me and I backed up, screaming as the fire licked at my body, searing the flesh. The fire stopped and I laid there, shaking as my body slowly healed itself.

"Mmm, burning flesh," Katerina commented, leaning against the door.

"If you're trying to get the dagger back, you're wasting your time. We're indestructible," I glared, my wounds now gone.

"No kidding." He turned the torch on again, spraying the fire at me as I screamed and tried to get away from it, but I knew it was useless. Turning it off, he set the hose down, coming over to me and twisting my neck to the side before I could heal.

 ***

Peeling my eyes open again, I slumped against the wall, feeling weak. I looked over at Elijah's body, guilt and sadness rolling over me. Leaning my head back against the wall, I heard footsteps and I listened closely. There was a sound like a fridge opening, then shutting. The footsteps got closer to the open door and I tried pulling on the chains again, still unable to break free. Katerina appeared in the doorway, looking around the room, eyes landing on me briefly. She turned to go back upstairs, but stopped, turning back around when the dagger started lifting out of Elijah's chest. My eyes grew wide as she pressed down on it. She slowly let go, the dagger having stopped moving. The wooden chair in the corner shattered to pieces, one of the legs lodging into Katerina's stomach. She yelled out for Damon and he appeared moments later. My attention moved back to Elijah's body as the daggered started lifting again and I moved forward slightly, waiting for it to come out. Damon saw it too and grabbed the hose for the blow torch, turning it on and blowing around Elijah's body. I shrieked as the fire got too close to me, shuffling backwards until I hit the wall. Damon turned the hose off and it was quiet as he glared over at me. "Do you know anything about this?" I quickly shook my head, eyes wide. He picked up the piece of wood that was previously in Katerina and walked over to me as I moved, covering myself. Damon shoved the wood into my back, causing me to cry out. I tried clawing at it, but it was just slightly out of reach. As long as I couldn't reach it, I couldn't pull it out and heal. Turning, he walked out of the room, Katerina not far behind.

I decided to post this chapter since the last one was short and so is this one. Two short chapters equals one longer chapter.

That's all I have to say...
