Love love love

10 days. 10 days since everyone found out about the witch has passed. You had gained some strength and you were trying to recover. You were still weak to fight but you were getting  better and better by the day. Bucky was trying to stay away from you. He didn't want to leave you when you needed him most but everytime he was around you he felt the hole in his heart getting bigger and bigger. He couldn't bare the pain. You had realized that and it stung to you. You didn't want him to be in pain but all you could do was to stay away from him. You decided that all you had to do was avoid him and let him go. Everytime you ran into him you at the hall you just smiled at him and leave without letting him talk to you. But you were wrong. While you were lying at your bed trying to focus on a book and not at all these thoughts trying to consume you, Bucky was out with Sam. He knew his friend was in pain and all he wanted was to distract him, even just for a little bit. They were outside the tower, in the park, sitting in the grass enjoying the sun. Bucky was silent. Sam didn't want to push him so he was mostly talking.

Sa: So... Are you going to help me with the boat next week?

B: I don't know.

Bucky drank another sip of his beer and tossed it to the side.

Sa: Come on Bucky I know what's going on, talk to me

B: What should I say Sam? That I'm hurting? Yes of course I am hurting. I love her and I don't want her to diy but I can't save her.

Sa: Yes you can! She can do this if you are going to be on her side!

B: AND WHO'S GOING TO BE ON MY SIDE SAM?

Bucky stood up and Sam saw that behind this angry tone there was pain. A lot of pain. He knew Bucky and his copy mechanisms. So he stayed quiet. Bucky started running to the tower. Sam started following him but he couldn't keep up with him and he quickly gave up. When Bucky got in the hall he bumped into someone. He was ready to yell at them or even punch them with how angry he was at that moment but when he looked down all his anger dissolve. He saw you stumbilng from bumping into him, a wall of muscle and quickly catched you. Now he was worried he had accidently hurt you.

B: Are you ok?

He asked you and you saw the worry in his beutiful features.

Y/N: Yes I'm fine

You said and tried to walk away from him but he catched your wrist bringing you back so you were facing him.

B: Let's talk

Before you could protest he pulled you from the sleeve to his room. He opened the door and you went inside sitting on the edge of his bed.
B: I know I've been distant lately and... Look... All I wanted was for you to not get hurt but I'm afraid I can't save you. Not anymore...
Y/N: Bucky it's not your fault and you know that. It's  something I have to get through... Alone...
B: No I want to be there for you and protect you. This is what I want. The last days has been like hell to me...
Y/N: Yes I know Bucky but I can't let that happen. I have to try and I don't want you to get hurt if I-
B: Don't finish that sentence. I won't let that happen. I promise. I'll help you and I- I... I want to be with you. It's worse to not being with you. I've been in pain the last days... It's just that- I... I need you.
He was out of breath when he finished his speech and you were bright red. That was exactly what you wanted to hear from him but you knew the consequences. It was too risky and you knew it. You got up from the bed and started walking across the room, almost reaching the door when a cold hand touched your arm. Shivers ran down your spine but you ignored the electricity running through you. You turned around to meet his bloodshot eyes. Your expression was unreadable to him. Your face held no emotion and was blank. He had never saw you like that. He could always know what you felt but at the moment a wall had been built to hide your emotions. You were in pain seeing him like that. You hid your emotions when all you wanted was to show him how much you love him and that you could work this out but you just stared at him with no emotion. You knew what you had to do so you did it. His bloodshot eyes were begging you to stay with him. You wanted to hold him tight in your arms, comforting him, telling him that everything would be ok but you just couldn't do it. You wanted to, so bad but you knew you couldn't do it to him.
Y/N: I'm sorry, I have to go now
B: I can't live without you and you know it cause you can't live without me either!
Y/N: We can't be together!
B: YOU'RE NOT MAKING THE DECISION FOR ME!
Y/N: But Bucky-
B: I choose to be with you. I want to help you, ok?
And just like that, with those words, your walls were destroyed. You finally looked at him and a small smile took it's place in your face
Y/N: Really?
B: Yes!
You smiled at him and you wiped his tears away.
He grabbed you by the waist and kissed you passionately.
B: I've missed this. You
Y/N: Yeah me too...
You didn't know what to say. All you wanted to do was stare into his ocean eyes and feel happy again. There had passed almost a year till you met this devilish man and he had become one of the most important people to you. He was your everything and now you knew that you couldn't lose him. You looked up at him and saw him staring at you. You smiled at him and pulled away  to sit down on the chair.
Y/N: We have to make a plan. Now that you agreed to help me I have to do it quickly.
B: How quickly?
Y/N: A lot. Now don't say anything. I'll tell Wanda that you're going to help me so that she can give us some information. She knows that stuff.
You stopped mid-sentence and looked over at Bucky to find him glaring at the window.
Y/N: What is it?
B: Why did Steve kissed you?
It was the most unexpected question but you would answer.
Y/N: He was telling me something about him liking me from our first date... It's complicated... I'll explain everything but now we got bigger problems.
B: HE LIKED YOU THE WHOLE TIME?
Y/N: Bucky relax we'll figure it out but now we have to do something about me problem-
B: NO! YOU CAN'T JUST-
Y/N: BUCKY I'M DYING!
He stopped mid-sentence looking at you horrified. You looked at him with tears in your eyes but after a second you wiped your tears.
Y/N: Sorry, I didn't mean to say it. I just have to get it together cause this creature is killing me.
B: Yeah I know how you're feeling doll but-
Y/N: No Bucky it's literally killing me
He looked at you confused and you rolled up your sleeve revealing something black on your arm. He came to take a look at it and then he looked at your face again.
B: I've never seen something like this in my entire life.
Y/N: I know right. Anyway. We have to do something. I'll tell Wanda that I'll do it but I'll do it only if you'll help me.
B: Of course I'll help you doll, you're everything to me. I don't want to lose you...
He put his hand on your cheek and your eyes softened. After your small talk you went down and talked with Wanda and then you ate something and went to bed, without inviting Bucky in your room. Not that you didn't want him, you just didn't want to bother him. You were feeling tired so you fell asleep quickly, only at 10 o'clock.

Some hours later, you felt a body slipping under the duvet next to you. You quickly opened your eyes only to find Bucky looking at you. You smiled at him and fell back down on your bed.
Y/N: I didn't know you wanted to come and sleep with me....
B: Of course I wanted to doll, are you kidding me? I thought you weren't asleep yet. Why didn't you tell me?
Y/N: I just didn't want to bother you...
B: Oh don't worry about me. I was just talking with Wanda.
Y/N: Really?
B: Yeah. I'll tell you the news tomorrow, now you need to rest. We both need to rest. Come here
He extended his arms and without a second thought you let him to hug you tight and make you feel safe. In his arms.
B: Goodnight doll
Y/N: Night Buck...
And just like that, you fell asleep, listening to his steady heartbeat.

A/N: Hi guys sorry for being sooo late to post this chapter but I have been writing a lot of tests this time. I know, I don't have any good excuse but I promise that I'll try to post another chapter soon. Also, HAPPY 2022! I know I've been late but I'll make it up to you guys.
