Newt removed the cover from Teresa's head and she looked around confused. He sat back down next to me.
"Gally?" She asked, clearly surprised to see him alive.
"Look this is how this is gonna work" He explained "You tell us what we need to know. Where's Minho?"
"You guys seriously don't think-" She looked at me.
"Don't look at her" He sat down in front of her " Look at me, she's not gonna help you"
She took one quick glance and me before diverting her gaze to the floor.
"Now, where's Minho?"
"He's with the others in holding"
"How many others?"
"28"
I can work with that" Brenda said.
"No you don't understand, the whole levels restricted, you can't get in without a card the sensors will pick you up-"
"We know, they're tagged" I interrupted " property of wicked. I'm not trained to remove them, but you are, so you're gonna do that for us"
I sat anxiously, as Teresa worked through them all, removing their tags one buy one.
"Bet she enjoyed that" Gally scoffed as he held a wet paper towel on the back of his neck.
"No need to be impertinent Gally" I told him.
"Look at you using fancy words at me. You've certainly grown up haven't you?"
"I could say the same thing about you. You're not an asshole anymore"
"Touché" He smirked.
"Could someone give me a hand?" Teresa asked.
Everyone stayed in the same spot and didn't dare move an inch, almost pretending they couldn't hear her like a group of little kids.
"Do you want to get in there or not?"
I sighed and stood up walking towards her.
"Pass me some more wet paper towels"
I went over and got some paper towels, wetting them. As I did I caught some of her conversation with Thomas.
"She's looking good" She said.
"Who?"
"Brenda, she looks healthy, how've you been getting her serum?"
"What are you talking about?"
"When was her last treatment?"
"At the right arm, before you left"
She stopped, and accidentally jerked her tweezers back making Thomas flinch in pain.
"But that was months ago"
"Yeah, so?"
"Thomas that's not possible-"
"You expect me to believe you?" He said with spite, then got up and walked off, leaving her.
Everyone else left, so I put the paper towels down and went to leave, before she called my name.
"Y/n, wait, even you should know, that isn't possible"
I stopped and turned around to look at her " No it's not"
"Y/n, you realise what this could mean" She said her voice gasping a little in excitement.
"Teresa" I walked back up to her " if there was a cure we would have found if by now"
"But, we can't just discard this new piece of information, it's practically impossible for Brenda to still be alive from that one treatment-"
"We?" I said with an anxious laugh " There is no "we" anymore. You made sure of that when you left me that day"
"You refused to come with me!"
"Because I knew it was wrong!" I raised my voice " And if you were really my freind, you would have stayed with me"
I turned around to leave but she grabbed a hold of my wrist " Get off me!"
"Y/n! What does the bliss do?" She asked.
I sighed " it slows the effects of the virus, but doesn't cure it"
"So if Brenda only had one treatment back at the right arm, months ago, she would have turned because the virus would have taken over because the bliss isn't a cure it's a temporary treatment"
What she was trying to tell me, finally sunk in. She was right.
"But- that's not- So how is she-"
"Exactly"
I took a deep breath, and thought for a second. " Ok, Thomas's blood was used for it" I grabbed the bandage with Thomas's blood on " So you take this, and if you get the chance you can run some tests. But not a word about this"
"Ok"
I felt a tickle in my throat and started coughing violently into my hand.
"You ok?" She asked, furrowing her brows.
"I'm fine, just need a little water that's all" I quickly left before she could ask me anything else.
