Hello! I think the chapters will start to be at least this long on average, but probably longer as the story progresses. Not really sure yet.

Please let me know of any errors you notice and thank you for reading!

September 8th, 1975.

The weekend flew by in the blink of an eye.

Natalie spent most of it with Charlotte and Regulus either studying or on the quidditch pitch. It was only the second week and her teachers had already assigned an absurd amount of homework. Finishing that along with helping Regulus study for his O.W.L's was time consuming and Natalie found she didn't have time for much else.

And now it was Monday. Natalie felt weirdly energetic, even after the early morning quidditch practice, as she walked to Charms. Honestly, she didn't know a better way to start her day. Her favorite class, with her favorite teacher, with one of her favorite people.

Natalie smiled as she slid into her seat next to Remus when she arrived at class. He gave her a smile in return.

"How was your weekend? I didn't see you around." he asked.

"Oh, I spent most of it helping Reg study for his OWL's and doing the potion work Slughorn assigned. Honestly, you would think Professor Slughorn would start the year off easy but apparently he wants to dive right into the hard stuff." she replied, unpacking her bag and taking out her supplies.

"Can't relate. Potions is hard enough on it's own, I could never take advanced potions."

"I don't blame you. I'm kind of regretting it myself." Natalie grabbed a chocolate frog from a pouch in her bag and handed it to Remus. He smiled gratefully and took it, whispering a 'Thank you' as class started.

"Attention! Your attention, please!" Flitwick called and the class ceased it's chatter. "Thank you, and good morning. Today, we will be learning the simple Water-Making Spell - Aguamenti -. Please read the chapter in your textbook and practice with your extra time. Then, we will try as a class. Good? Off you go, then!" he said.

"Aguamenti? Seriously? That's so easy." Natalie complained to Remus. He smiled affectionately but still opened his textbook to the chapter. She sighed and did the same.

"I bet it is for you, Leonie. Only one person in our year who can't stand not knowing everything about our year and the next." A voice said from behind her.

Natalie snapped her head around and her green eyes met a gray pair. "At least I'm capable, Black. Some of us like to fill our brains with actual information. Not second-year jinxes and an hour-long hair routine."

Potter snorted from his spot next to Sirius. Black narrowed his eyes at her but was cut off just as he was about to respond.

"Reading ahead isn't bad, Sirius. In fact, I think it is extremely helpful." came the voice of Lily Evans.

Evans wasn't one of the Gryffindors Natalie disliked, but only because she was able to keep a conversation with the red-headed girl. Something most of her Gryffindor peers couldn't do.

Again, Black was cut off before he could respond. "Of course, my Lily Flower! Reading ahead is super helpful! It helps you with learning, and classes. Studying!" James said, rather annoyingly. And stupidly. His eyes went wide and he fumbled with his words, adding each sentence like an afterthought.

Evans rolled her eyes at him. "Shut up, Potter. I wasn't talking to you." she said and turned back to her work.

James glared at Sirius and punched him in the arm, earning him a sharp 'Hey!'
