The Spell

After failing to get help from what appeared to be a police officer, we made our way to City Hall where the biggest Halloween party was taking place.

Hundreds of people must have been attending the event. It was hard to tell who was who based on the costumes they chose to wear.

I was amazed by how much things have changed since 1692. People have grown more excited about Halloween.

"Where are your parents?" I asked Max, trying to help him with his plan. "I don't know, I don't know what costumes they chose." he shrugged embarrassed.

"What do we do?" Allison asked searching around for Mr. and Mrs. Dennison. "We'll split up, Destiny and Dani will look for Mom while we look for Dad." Max proposed his plan. "Got it."

Dani, Thackery, and I began our search for Mrs. Dennison. Too many people were wearing masks for their costumes so the task became more and more difficult by the minute.

Just then, we saw a woman that appeared to be Dani's mother. She was dancing along to the music that was being performed and she was wearing a Madonna costume.

"Mom?" Dani asked with shock. Mrs. Dennison looked at her daughter with surprise, "Dani? What are you doing here?" "We need some help. Max, Allison, Destiny, and I went to the old Sanderson House and Max lit the Black Flame candle, and now the Sanderson Sisters are back from the dead and they're after us." the little girl replied rapidly in fear. I couldn't blame Dani for being scared, this whole thing was terrifying.

"How much candy have you had, honey?" Mrs. Dennison asked with endearment. "I haven't had a piece," Dani cried. "We have been running away from the witches all night," I stepped in to help my friend.

"Is this true?" her mother inquired of us. She looked at Thackery staring at her and then back at me and Dani.

"Okay, let's just find your father." she told her daughter. Dani handed Thackery to me as we followed Mrs. Dennison to find Mr. Dennison.

Things were not going well because neither one of the parents believed us, and in the midst of the argument; my aunts made their grand entrance into the party.

Winifred had a dangerous smirk on her face and sent Mary and Sarah to look for us. "We need to hide!" Thackery warned.

"My aunts are here," I told my friends and we immediately began to make ourselves scares from the approaching witches.

The situation became even more dangerous when Billy came lumbering into the room and people didn't pay any attention to him, but they would be running if they knew he was a real zombie!

Suddenly, Max climbed up onto the stage and tried to take the microphone from the man with a skeleton painted face that was performing.

"Everyone, the Sanderson Sisters have returned from the dead and they're on a conquest to take away the youth of the children of Salem. They're right over there," he pointed to the three witches standing in the middle of the crowd of costumed people.

"Thank you Max, for that marvelous introduction," Winifred smiled venomously. The crowd was eating the situation up because they thought it was a show.

Just then, Aunt Winnie began to sing:

I put a spell on you
And now you're mine.
You can't stop the things I do.
I ain't lyyyyyin'.

It's been 300 years
Right down to the day,
Now the witch is back
And there's hell to pay.

I put a spell on you
And now you're miiiiiine!

Hello, Salem! My name's Winifred, what's yours?

I put a spell on you
And now you're gone. (gone gone gone so long!)
My whammy fell on you
And it was strong. (so strong so strong so strong)

Your wretched little lives
Have all been cursed,
'cause of all the witches working
I'm the worst!

I put a spell on you
And now you're mine!

[Watch out! Watch out! Watch out! Watch out!]

If you don't believe,
You'd better get superstitious.

Ask my sisters!
"Ooh, she's vicious!"
I put a spell on you....
I put a spell on you.
Sisters!

Ay, ay, aye, aye, say bye-byyyyyyyyyyye! Bye bye!

"Don't listen to them!" we were trying to warn the unsuspecting people from falling under the enchantment that they were unknowingly being put under. Max, Dani, and Allison covered their ears, and I remembered my immunity to their magic so I didn't have to worry about that; my light magic was stronger than their black magic.

Chaos would reach its peak when we attempted to kill the witches with fire.
