"Kibagami, wait!" Ukyo called, running after them, holding his katana and sushi bag. The two men turned around and looked at him, confused. "Kibagami, you're here too... do you know how to go back?"
Iori rolled his eyes. "For the hundredth time, I am not Kibayami. I don't even know who that is!"
"Quit playing around and just take me back!" Ukyo exclaimed, exasperated.
"Iori, seems like we need to teach him the hard way," the younger man cracked his knuckles. "Let's go!"
Iori stopped him, grabbing his shoulder. "Dash, wait. You know I don't like violence."
Ukyo gasped. "You're not Kibagami!"
"Dash, have we been speaking German all this while?" Iori snorted, annoyed. "I'm not this Kibayami Genjubon person that you speak of. I'm Iori. Yagami Iori."
"You're not even related to Kibagami?" Ukyo asked, looking closely at the redhead.
Iori shook his head. "Nope. I'm from the Yasakani Clan. I don't remember any Kibayami..."
"It's Kibagami..." Ukyo sighed. "But I need your help."
"Oh great..." K' groaned, rolling his neck "What is it?"
"Dash, wait," Iori stopped him again, this time with a sharp nudge. He turned back to Ukyo and raised his brow. "What do you want? Money? Food? Place to stay?"
"I need you to help me go back," Ukyo said, much to their surprise.
"Go back where?" K' shifted from one foot to another, confused.
"In time," Ukyo said, much to their surprise. "You see... I'm not from this era. I'm from 1789, from the Omi Province."
The two men looked him up and down and nodded, much to Ukyo's surprise.
"Do you by any chance know a Nakoruru?" Iori asked.
"I think he does..." K' nodded thoughtfully. "He's from her era, anyway..."
"Yeah..." Iori nodded, turning back to Ukyo. "You know her?"
Ukyo nodded. "Yes, I do. The Ainu priestess. She's here too?
"Yes, she thinks faith brought her here for a reason," Iori said, walking alongside him on the sidewalk. "Maybe it's the same for you. What is your name?"
"Tachibana Ukyo," Ukyo answered.
"I think she mentioned an Ukyo before," Iori grabbed Ukyo's shoulder to stop him from crossing the road on a red light. "The fastest swordsman in the samurai?"
"Yes, that's me," Ukyo couldn't help feeling proud.
"So you just gonna ditch me?" K' chimed in as they crossed the road, left behind.
Iori chuckled and took his keys out. He pressed the button to unlock his car.
"Get in," Iori said, motioning his head towards his Subaru. "I'll take you to her."
Ukyo just stared at the car, not sure what to do. Iori went to other side and slipped behind the wheel. K' sighed and helped him open the back door.
"Go in," K' said, gesturing towards the car.
Ukyo gingerly lifted his leg and stepped onto the seat, earning a groan from K'.
"That's where you sit, not step," K' explained, getting in to demonstrate. He slid to give him space. Ukyo got in correctly, but found it very difficult with his hakama. "Alright, now close the door."
Iori was at the driver seat, laughing at whatever that was going on behind him. Ukyo frowned and tried to pull the door shut, but couldn't close it properly. K' ended up getting out to help him. Turns out, it couldn't close because Ukyo's hakama was sticking out.
"Stop laughing, idiot," K' hissed, getting in beside Ukyo. "As it is, you left this poor guy to get in by himself. He doesn't even know what a car is, let alone get in. You're an awful person..."
"I'm sorry," Iori said between laughter. "So where to now?"
"To the Rurus," K' sighed, so done with him.
"No, we need to get them something first," Iori said, pulling out of the parking spot. "We shouldn't visit anyone empty-handed, remember? Let's drop by TwentyFourSeven first."
Ukyo was glad that the custom was still being practiced centuries later."I feel something..." Nakoruru murmured, standing on the doorstep of the small home she shared with her sister. "Rimu? Do you feel anything?"
Rimururu nodded. "I do... a familiar energy is approaching us."
"Yes," Nakoruru nodded. "Let's just wait and see what it is."
A familiar dark red Subaru Legacy suddenly drove up to their home. Nakoruru grabbed the keys to open the gate.
"Nako, we have a visitor," Iori says, getting out of the car. He poked his head into the car again and called. "Dash, help him out."
K' got out and went to the other side to open the door for someone else. Nakoruru gasped when she saw the blue-haired man get out, holding his handmade katana.
"Ukyo-san?!" Rimururu exclaimed. "Nako-neesan! Looks like this is what we sensed."
"We need to get you to the hospital..." Nakoruru quickly said, going to Ukyo. She turned back to Iori. "Iori, Dash. Ukyo has tuberculosis. It was incurable from where we come from but in this era, it no longer is."
"There... there's a cure?" Ukyo said in surprise.
K' pushed him back into the car and closed the door before getting in next to Iori. Nakoruru got in next to Ukyo, and Rimururu hopped in beside her. Soon, they were driving to the hospital.
