Game On (Akashi x Reader) [AU]

Laeubore, huh?

You were currently walking on the market street. Stalls here and there, filled with goods, merchants and customers. It's all the same. People talking at your left and right, children running around, who knows that a market place could be such a peaceful place?

The assassin's words from before haunted your mind. Akashi has some unfinished business with you? What does he meant by that? Sure, you still got a battle to settle with Akashi ahead of you. Is that what he meant by unfinished business?

You quickly dismissed the thought. Right now, you just wanted to enjoy being here as long as you could.

You walked out of the marketplace towards the town square. The medieval styled buildings adorned the streets, makes you felt as if you're in a painting. You sat on a fountain, eyeing the scenery around you, as you sighed happily.

Even though you've been here for a while, all of these seems so surreal to you. It's almost like a dream. You pinched yourself, to see if it was just a dream.

Suddenly, you were plunged into a black hole. Your vision blurred as you fell into the hole.

Your body jolted awake, cold sweat bathed your body. You tried to adapt your vision to your surroundings, and found out that you're back to your own room.

"It was just all a dream...?"

You glanced at your television screen for a second. It was currently displaying the market place.  Suddenly, the screen glitches a bit, showing a sentence,

"Play the game."

Your eyes widened in surprise, and the game went back to normal. You were still petrified, your brain was processing the scene that rolled before your eyes.
You got up from your bed and went to check the game. You eyed your level, it was still level 60. You sighed, levelling up is really a pain.

Akashi groaned in frustrated manner. He didn't expect her to get out of the game system so suddenly.

He eyed your visage behind the screen, seeing your serious expression. You were currently stressing on the game.

He smirked, if you keep up playing the game, he would get to face you anytime soon.

You stretched your body. For these few past weeks, you had been struggling to get yourself to level 100. It was fun, but exhausting at the same time. You eyed your screen, you're currently level 99.

"One more level..." you wiped an imaginary sweat. You were thirsty, so you walked out of the room to grab a drink.

You grabbed a glass from the counter, and filled it with water. You chugged down it's content. However, there's an uneasy feeling brewing on your stomach. You quickly put down the glass, and rushed back to your room.

Soon as you came back, your step came to a halt as you eyed your screen. It displayed the boss arena. You could've sworn you were still on the training ground few minutes ago.

"No, no, no...." you dashed into your room quickly grabbed your controller, trying to find the escape button. Unfortunately, the escape button isn't there.

Akashi appeared out of nowhere, and a dialog box appeared, "Finally, hero, I've been waiting for you."

"I'm not ready yet!" You screeched. You heard an almost inaudible chuckle behind you. You spun your head, but you saw nothing.

The dialog box disappeared, and suddenly, Akashi attacked your character, "Hey, that's cheating! You stole the headstart!" You shouted at your screen. Right now, you didn't give a crap if your neighbors thought that you were insane. This game were driving you insane with it's peculiar glitches. Okay, every game has their own glitch, but this game's glitch is far too strange to be called a glitch.

More like someone has reprogrammed the game.

You dodged Akashi's repetitive attack. He was a lot stronger than you thought. Could it be that he was too training for these past weeks?

You quickly shook your head. He was just a mere NPC, nothing more than that. He couldn't have done it.

Your health is at its half, while Akashi is only reduced by one third of his total HP. You retreated a bit and quickly used a health potion.

"Gah, this game is nuts!"

You quickly select a special combined attack, sending Akashi back for few meters (in game, and centimeters on your screen). His HP were knocked for another one third.
You screamed in happiness as you saw him got stunned. Without a delay, you quickly do a repetitive attack upon his body.

Sadly, the stun effect only last for few seconds. He got up and knocked your character back, knocking half of your HP as well.

"Dammit!" You screeched. You dodged his attack, while trying to counter him. You saw an opening, and quickly delivered a final blow.

The screen went pitch black for a second, but it was quickly back. 'You Won!' was displayed on the screen. You did a little victory dance. As you're busy doing your dance, a dialog box appeared, "Well done, hero, I assume your trainings for the past weeks has pay it off..."

You stopped dancing and raised a brow, is that what the game supposed to say? If it is, what a coincidence it is to know that you've been training your character for the past weeks.

His character vanished, but you could've sworn you saw him smirking before he vanished completely.

"May us meet on another time..." you heard someone whispered in your ear, and you felt a hand on your shoulder as well. You spun your head, but again, you couldn't find anyone.

However, a warmth of a hand is still lingering on your shoulder.
