“Fantastic race Dani,” Toto happily informed the race winner. “George finished second…we have a strong start.”

“Haha yes!” Daniella cheered. “Great job every one and the car was just amazing today.”

“That’s what we love to here.”

Daniella got out of the car and immediately ran to her team. To secure the first win and podium of the season is always special. Soon George joined them, he was clearly over the moon as well as he performed better than he hoped for.

“Well done George,” Daniella extended her arm for a handshake but instead George hugged her.

She let out a laugh as she hugged him back. But within seconds the memory of what happened a few hours ago in the driver’s room came rushing back to them and they let go of each other.

“Umm congrats,” George said to Daniella before once again joining his team.

Daniella took off her helmet and waved at the cheering crowd.

“Hey,” Daniella smiled at the reporter who was waiting for her in the hotel lobby.

“Hey,” Kevin smiled and gave her a quick hug. “Amazing race today. It’s a shame I didn’t get to interview you today.”

“Maybe next time,” Daniella let out a laugh. “Shall we go?”

“Yeah,” Kevin nodded as he guided her outside. “I have already made reservations.”

George watched from a distance as his teammate went on a date with the guy he talked on the phone earlier. He tried not to give it much thought as he also have plans with his friends.

“Who is that guy with Ella?” Lando asked as he joined George, curious to know what is going on.

“I have no idea,” George lied.

“How is she?” Lando asked George who is already drinking his third alcoholic drink.

“Who?”

“Ella…How is Daniella?” Lando asked again. He misses her a lot and wish she would talk to him.

“Oh…she is doing great,” once again George lied. “I mean she just won the first race.”

“No…I meant does she…is she still mad at me?” Lando nervously asked.

George gave him an annoyed look and put down the glass.

“Let’s just say she seems happier when she doesn’t think or talk about you.”

Lando felt the overwhelming feeling of guilt and sadness as he remembered how good their relationship was and how stupidly he messed up.

“I wish there was a way to make it right.”

Daniella came back from her date when she ran into George in the hallway. He was struggling to open the door to his hotel room. She took one look and understood that he was drunk.

“Do you need help?” she politely asked.

George looked at her and gave a bright smile before handing her the key card. “Yes please.”

Daniella shook her head as she took the card from his hand and opened the door.

“Come on,” she hold his arm and help jim get inside the room. “If you get drunk after scoring one podium then by the end of the season you will turn into an alcoholic.”

“You think I will win more podiums?” he asked as Daniella closed the door and helped him get to bed.

“Yes,” she replied honestly. “You are one of the best on the grid.”

“You know, I would have been on a lot of podiums if you hadn’t stole my seat,” he slurred.

“I know George,” Daniella admitted. “And I am really sorry for what I did. If I could go back in time now I would have not made the move…you really deserved that seat.”

George smiled. “You mean that?”

Daniella nodded. “Hopefully you won’t remember this tomorrow and we can go back to hating each other.”

George was about to say something but he lost balance and layed down on the bed, pulling Daniella with him. Once again she ended up on top of him.

Their faces were very close and she can smell the alcohol in his breath.

She tried to get up but George wrapped his arms around her. He gave her a smirk which she usually find very annoying, but at this moment she can’t look away.

“George…let me go,” Daniella said.

His drunk eyes studied her face and his smirk slowly disappeared before he let go of her, but Daniella didn't realize it as her eyes were also fixated on him.

“I am sorry,” he apologized. “I am sorry for what I said to you that day…I was out of line.”

“You didn’t say anything wrong,” Daniella pulled herself away from the trance and got off of him.

“I did,” George softly said. “Those words were far from the truth and I am going to prove it to you.”

Daniella gave him a small smile as his eyes slowly started to close.

“Please don’t remember any of these tomorrow,” she prayed before leaving the room.

Unfortunately for Daniella, her prayers were not answered and George woke up the next day remembering every single words and moments with her.
