FAST AND FUTURE - George Russell

Toto's eyes constantly kept moving from George to Daniella, watching the drivers stealing glances when the other one was not watching as they both talked to their engineers. He can feel something tense was going on between the drivers but can't exactly figure out what it is. 

"Okay, what is going on with you two?" He asked, getting irritated. 

"What do you mean?" Nate, Daniella's engineer, looked confused. "We are just talking about the statistics."

"I am not talking to you Nate, I am talking to my drivers," Toto pointed at George and Daniella.

The drivers looked at each other, Daniella immediately got a little nervous but put on a facade, and George looked unbothered. 

"Nothing is going on," Daniella tried to sound confident. "We just had a fight," She lied. 

"She is the one who started it, by the way," George added. 

Toto huffed as he pressed the bridge of his nose. 

"I should have known…you two getting along was too good to be true." He walked away as he had to go give some interviews. 

George looked at Daniella and once their eyes met, she quickly looked away.

The post race celebration at the club was going on for more than an hour now and almost half of the drivers were half drunk. Daniella, who didn't want to get drunk, was only halfway through her first drink as she sat alone at the bar as Mick, who was keeping her company left her to talk to someone else. 

"You don't seem like you are in a good mood," Lando joined her. She didn't want his company but was too tired to start an argument. "Thought you would look happier, I mean you won a race just hours ago."

"Winning all the time gets boring after a while," Daniella sarcastically replied before taking a small sip of her drink. She slowly turned around in her seat and watched as everyone danced and enjoyed themselves. 

Lando rolled his eyes as he knows that's not the case, Daniella loves to win. 

"I remember we used to celebrate everything together, whether it's a race win or a podium," Lando said with a small smile, remembering their relationship. 

Daniella looked at him, remembering how in love she was and how happy she was with him until their relationship was destroyed. 

"We both messed up pretty badly," Lando let out a dry laugh. "I always wonder if…"

"We both messed up?" Daniella gave him a questioning look as she raised her eyebrows. 

"You know what I mean," Lando quickly replied, realizing he messed up once again. 

"No, I don't know what you meant," Daniella argued. "Can you please explain?"

"Ummm…" Lando stuttered, trying to figure out a good explanation.

"I loved you, I always trusted you and then I caught you cheating," Daniella refreshed his memories. "Because of you, I am now scared of even liking someone, let alone love some. I try to push away anyone who gets close to my heart. Just two weeks ago I lied to the guy I am falling for that I am in love with someone else so he would start hating me again and I can justify my action of pushing him away. So please tell me how I also messed up when it's you who broke me beyond repair," Without realizing she shouted the last part, making a couple of people close by turn their heads. 

Lando was speechless and his jaw was hanging from his mouth, he had no idea what to say. 

Daniella took a deep breath and let it out as she closed her eyes for a couple of seconds to calm down.
