FAST AND FUTURE - George Russell

"I hate you," George said as soon as he saw Daniella, rushing and on her way to see Toto. 

"What?" Daniella let out a laugh, looking confused. "What did I do?"

George jogged towards Daniella, catching up to her and started walking with her. Daniella slightly slowed her pace. 

"You denied Netflix to film you for drive to survive.."

"Yeah, so?" Daniella looked at her teammate. 

"So…they are following Mercedes this season and have put all the focus on me," He gave a sarcastic smile before turning his head around to look at the filming crew following him. 

Daniella followed his gaze and raised her eyebrows when she saw the cameras. 

"And now they are filming me because you are with me…" She playfully glared at George. 

George gave her a cheeky smile and put his arm around her shoulder. 

"If I am going to suffer then you will have to suffer with me."

"Daniella!"

The Mercedes driver cursed under her breath when she heard the familiar voice of the Red Bull team principal. She reluctantly turned around. 

"Hey," She gave a polite smile. "How are you doing?"

"Good..good," Christian nodded. "How are you? You are leading the championship now, it must feel really good."

"Yeah.." She nodded. 

"So I know you rejected the Red Bull seat but we discussed it and I think we can offer you more money," Christian said with a hopeful look on his face. 

"Actually.." Daniella sighed, trying to come up with a response. 

As Christian waited for an answer they were joined by Toto, turning his hopeful smile into a frown. 

"Hey, what is going on here?" Toto asked with a fake smile on his face. "Trying to steal my driver Christian?"

Daniella cautiously took a step back as the other two glared at each other. 

"Actually yes," Christian smugly said. 

Daniella was about to say something but Toto beat her to it. 

"Didn't you hear? We have decided to extend her contract," Toto smirked. "Daniella is staying in Mercedes."

Christian looked at Daniella for confirmation and she nodded. Immediately disappointment flashed across his face. 

"Ohh..okay," Christian nodded. "Have a good weekend Dani," He gave a smile before walking away. 

Toto laughed in triumph. 

Daniella shook her head as she let out a laugh.

"Well done," Daniella excitedly hugged George who just secured pole position for the race. She qualified second and is happy with the result. 

"You too Dani," George smiled as he hugged her back. "Let's aim for 1-2 tomorrow."

Daniella was about to say something but she noticed the Netflix crew around and immediately let go of George and ran over to her team. 

George chuckled and shook his head before looking at the camera. 

"She is scared of Netflix."

"What are you doing here?" Daniella asked as she entered her driver's room and found George there, sitting on the couch, sitting comfortably. 

"Hiding," George replied as Daniella closed the door. 

"Hiding from Netflix?" She laughed. 

George nodded. 

"They are everywhere.." He complained. "It's your fault," He glared at Daniella. "If you had agreed to be part of it we could have shared the burden but now they are following me everywhere."

Daniella laughed as she sat next to him. 

"I went through the same thing last year because Lewis refused to be in DTS," Daniella replied. "I had to go and hide in Max's driver's room…it's a good thing Christian didn't notice me there."

George felt a slight sting of jealousy with the mention of Max. The former teammates are still very close friends even after Daniella left Red Bull, and George would be lying if he says he never have been jealous of their friendship and wish he and Daniella were that close. 

But after the kiss all he has done is think about what it would be like to kiss Daniella again, to hold her in his arms again, is it again going to feel as amazing as it felt the first time. He can't help but wonder if she also felt the same. 

"George?" Daniella waved her hand in front of his eyes. He seemed fazed out. 

"Yeah, sorry.." George snapped back to reality. 

"What were you thinking about?" 

"Just about us.." George replied without thinking. 

"Huh?" Daniella looked confused. 

"Do you think about us? About the kiss?" George asked as he started feeling a little nervous. 

Daniella was taken aback by the question. Her lips slightly parted and George also had the same expression on his face. 

Suddenly multiple thoughts running through her mind. Finding herself in a dilemma, should she tell him the truth or lie? 

"George..I have.."

George waited for her to finish the sentence but was interrupted by a knock at the door. 

Daniella quickly looked away from him and stood up, letting out a deep breath. 

"Ughh!" George groaned in frustration and covered his face with his hands. 

Daniella felt the same frustration. 

She went and opened the door, both were informed that they were called for the debrief. 

Both George and Daniella awkwardly looked at each other before leaving the room.

A/N: boring chapter...but why are Dani and George having so much interruptions?
