Chapter Nine

~~~Shady's POV~~~

I turn around to look at him and ask him what the problem was, but he was gone. He must have went to the bathroom? I walk to my class and give the teacher the pass. "Um, Pitch when to the bathroom, he'll be here shortly." My teacher nods and gives me my assignment for the day. A few minutes pass and Pitch walks in. The teacher gives his assignment and he sits down in his chair. When class finished we had homework from Pg. 537 Problems (13-33).

"Hey, Shady!" I hear my name being called from behind me. I turn around and look at Pitch.

"Oh, hey. What's up?" I ask him. He jogs to me and starts walking with me to lunch.

"I was just wondering if I could have lunch with you." I look at him a bit confused.

"You, want to sit with me at lunch?" Well this is a first. Why would a guy sit with me. Not that I mind but usually guys like him sit with the popular kids, or with the really pretty girls like Marisa.

"Yes, is there a problem? Oh, do you have a boyfriend, because if you do I can totally understand!" He says rapidly. A boyfriend?! I've never had one, like who would want to be with me? I laugh.

"Hahahaha, no not even close. I was just surprised that you want to sit with me and not the hot popular kids." He looks at me and stares at my face. I stop walking and get nervous under his gaze. "Um, do I have something on my face?"  I ask as I touch my face. He shakes his head. He grabs the pice of my hair that was covering almost half of my face and puts it behind my ear.

"No, I was just wondering how they could ignore someone like you. Your hair is a lovely shade of dark brown and not to mention that your hair is perfectly straight with a bit of waves at the tips, and your eyes are a beautiful shade of brown, black and green." I blush at what he had said and continue walking to the cafeteria.

"Um, thanks." I say not knowing what to say. We walk to the lunch room and get in line to get Chines food. When we had our food I sit down in my usual table with my friends Jessica, Nilda and Stefani with her boyfriend Lorance. "Hey, guys." I say greeting them.

"Hi Shady. How are you feeling? I heard that you went to the nurses office after you almost passed out?" Stefani asks worried about me.

"Uh, yeah I must have been tiered." I say to her even though I'm pretty sure that wasn't the case. Jessica looks at me and smiles.

"I heard that Pitch, the new hot guy. Picked you up with your heavy backpack and carried you to the nurses too." I blush at what she said.

"...Yeah." Nilda looks at me and smiles. How did they find out?

"I heard he even stayed there with you until you woke up." I was about to answer but Pitch sat down next to me and answered for me.

"Yes, I did. It would have been rude of me not to do so, and I wanted to make sure she was okay." They stop asking questions and stare at him in sock.

"Um, I'm Nilda." Nilda says still a bit surprised.

"Hi, I'm Pitch." He says while shaking Nilda's hand.

"I'm Jessica." Jessica says after a while of starting.

"Hello." He says shaking her hand. He looks at Stefani and Lorance.

"Hello, I'm Stefani and this is my boyfriend Lorence." Stefani says confidentiality and proud.

"Nice to meet you two." Pitch says shaking Stefani's hand and then Lorance's hand. We look at our food and start eating. When we where done we started talking about school and about me a bit. Nilda looks at me sadly.
