Tatooine. Not the first place you would have chosen, but if it's the best place for you to get away from your old life, then it'll have to do. You can't go back, not to that horrible planet and that horrible life, though you're beginning to wonder how much better off this place is, especially if it's all just an endless desert.
Unfortunately for you, your ship had failed and crashed in the middle of the Dune Sea. You'd been wandering for a few days, and your body was exhausted. You were also almost out of food and water, and you didn't know how long you could last without it.
Wiping your brow and taking a rest, you looked up and gasped. Either you were seeing things, or there was a massive building up ahead. With new found hope, you began to move quicker towards it.
When you approached it, the large door was daunting. You were hesitant in knocking, why would this place be in the middle of nowhere with nothing else around? Taking a deep breath and asking the Maker for a watchful eye, you knocked on the door. A gatekeeper droid extended from the wall and scanned you.
"State your business."
"M-my ship crashed in the Dune Sea, I've been walking for days. All I ask for is a place to stay for the night with food and water. I have credits to pay if needed," you explained quickly.
"You may enter."
The large door slowly opened and you were greeted by two Gamorrean guards, and they studied you for a minute.
"Hello," you said kindly. They smiled, you think, at you and moved to the side to let you enter. They led you to the throne room where a bunch of people mingled. They looked intimidating, and they fell quiet when you entered. A man with bounty hunter armor on was the one to approach you. He smiled and held out his hand.
"Welcome, traveler. To what do we owe the pleasure of a lady like you?"
"I come from another planet, I'm starting a new life. My ship crashed in the Dune Sea and this is the first place I've come to. All I need is a place to stay with food and water for tonight. I can pay for it as well-"
"That won't be necessary," he said, holding his hand up dismissively. "We welcome all here, and supply any need to anyone."
"Thank you. Thank you so much," you said, a wide grin spreading over your face.
"Let me have someone show you to your room," he said, and he waved over a tough looking girl. She smiled at you and motioned for you to follow.
"Our king is currently away, but when he comes back, he will be more than happy to allow you to stay as long as you need," she said.
"Thank you, I really appreciate it. I've never been cared for like this, not even by my family."
"Well, then let me make you a proposition," she said, turning to you when she reached the room you'd be staying in. "Join our family. We will care for you, and you can stay here. No worrying about finding a place to stay or finding a job. Our king will happily let you live here."
"Really? That would be wonderful!" you said. She chuckled and nodded her head.
"Come, let me show you your room." She opened the door for you and you walked in. It wasn't terribly big, but it was enough space for you to feel comfortable. The bed was also the comfiest you've ever been on, and when you sat on it, you didn't think you'd ever get up. As you laid down, the girl said something that you didn't hear. You instantly fell into a deep slumber, one that your body desperately needed.
When you woke up, you were greeted by a tray of food on your night stand. You quickly sat up and began to eat, not caring about how ravenous you looked. You finished it all too soon, and decided to go out and see who all was here.
