"May, Bobbi's phone is back in service." You said. "It shouldn't be too hard to track it to a location." Hunter said and started working on the tablet. "Could be a trap." May answered. "Been there, done that. Most of my marriage to Bobbi feels like a trap but we did have our good times. So are you guys up for this?" Hunter replied. "If it means being able to put a bullet through Ward's head then I'm all in." May answered. "Same here." You added and took out your cell phone and dialed Bobbi's number, which was of course left unanswered. "Go suit up, we'll get her back, trust me." Hunter said and placed his hand on your shoulder. "I know, even if I die trying." You replied and left the room to change.

"One thing Ward's obsessed about is closure and Agent 33's closure is most likely what they're chasing after. This might be a trap so everyone please be aware and check every room for Agent Morse. Agent 33 also has a mask that makes her have other people's faces, any suspicious activity from us or your team will be reported immediately." You said to the team of SHIELD agents around you. They all took their seats and waited for the plane to land. "After we save Bobbi you better ask her out." Hunter whispered. "No, I've known her for too long. I don't wanna risk it." You replied. "Besides, you obviously still have feelings for her."

Hunter snickered, "We're divorced for a reason, mate but still take care of her, yeah?. She deserves someone and you're obviously in love with her. She talked about you all the time back then, how you guys would walk to school together, having sleepovers at each other's houses, you even have a PhD in biology because you wanted to be with her." You had a moment of realization and Hunter continued talking. "You better make it out in one piece and alive to ask her out."

"Alright, we're here. Get ready and stay safe everyone." May said and opened the hatch. You guys made your way into the abandoned building quickly, immediately noticing the camera's Ward had installed. "Search every room, be careful of traps." You reminded and everyone split up.

"Bob? Bobbi? Where are you? I'm coming to find you." You said. Bobbi probably heard you because she started thrashing around to free herself and disarm the rifle that was set up behind her. You heard her and rushed to open one of the doors only to be met with a dark empty room. You turned away from the room and continued down the hallway.

You rushed past more doors and stopped at one where the sounds of thrashing grew louder. You turned on the flashlight on your gun and took note of the bloodstains on the door. You knew that was the room she was being kept in and most likely trapped. You let out a breath, turned the doorknob and swung it open. You saw Bobbi tilt her chair to the left and a gunshot was next. Bobbi's limp body fell to the floor and you rushed over.

"Bobbi, why did you do that. Shit, what do I do?" You whispered to yourself, watching the woman starting to bleed out, you freed her from the restraints and threw the gag away from her. "I'm sorry, Bob but this'll hurt." You whispered and started applying pressure on the gunshot wound. She lets out a whimper and you start apologizing again. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." You whispered, feeling the tears prick your eyes.

"May! Hunter! Get Bobbi to the jet! She's been shot!" You yelled. "Stay with me, Bob. I've got you, I've got you. Please, c'mon." You begged. May arrived but you continued putting pressure on the wound. "I'm losing her, get Simmons on the line." You said and lifted Bobbi off the ground as she slowly fell unconscious. "Easy, easy." May said and grabbed the rifle.

You sat outside of the lab and watched as Simmons started operating on Bobbi with tears in her eyes. "She's gonna be alright, she's a fighter." Hunter said while pacing in front of you. After the operation was finished, Bobbi was placed into a hospital pod inside the lab. You held her hand and played with her hair while she laid unconscious on the hospital bed. You weren't used to her like this, the absence of her laugh, sarcastic replies and the usual warmth of her body was gone.

"I'll be leaving soon." Hunter said when he walked into the pod. "I'll be back but I'll be gone for a couple days. I'm gonna get intel on Ward and put a bullet through his head." "I'm going too, then." You said. "No, you're not. You're gonna stay here and take care of Bobbi, she needs you." he said. "You better take care of yourself, mate." You replied and hugged him.

You felt someone smack your hand, making you jerk your head up from your hand. You let out a yawn before looking at Bobbi. "Hey." she whispered. "You look better, stupid but better. Taking a bullet for me was stupid." You said. "No, walking into a trap knowing it was a trap is stupid." she remarked. "You were the bait, and you're stupid, I thought you were going to die." You said and placed your head on the mattress.

"I wasn't thinking and I didn't think you would care either." she answered. "You think I wouldn't care? Of course I would care, we've been friends since we were children. There's no one else I'd rather be with other than you. I can't imagine my life without you." You whispered. "What are we really? Are we just friends or something more?" Bobbi asked and placed her hand on your head. "Why didn't you mention anything?" You asked, sitting up again. "I was scared you wouldn't feel the same." she whispered. "Seriously Morse, were my signals really that unclear. I've been trying to tell you since we were teenagers." You deadpanned.

"Alright, how about this? You and I, on a date when I get out of here, at that coffee shop we always studied at when we were in college." she asked, her ears turning red. "You've got yourself a deal, Morse. But you have a surgery tomorrow, they aren't done operating on your knee yet." You said and signaled towards the knee brace she was wearing. "Alright, alright." she smiled and stretched out her hand to hold yours.
