"I'll be fine, it's just an undercover mission." Bobbi reassured you. "At fucking Hydra. What're you supposed to be? Some Hydra hellbeast or something?" You questioned. "You sound like Hunter." she snickered. "Not funny." You replied. "I'll be back in no time anyways, about a month or two if it goes well." she said after a beat of silence. "You better make it back in one piece, Morse. Once you're back I'm giving those batons of yours a serious upgrade." You replied and left her room for her to pack.
Before Bobbi left the next day, you met her in the hangar and handed her a burner phone. "Don't take this into Hydra headquarters, leave it wherever you're planning to stay. Text me when you can and let me know if you're alive." You said. "Sure, mum." she replied sarcastically which earned a playful eye roll from you. "Don't do anything stupid." You reminded her. "How could I? I'm the smartest person you know." she snickered, hugging you before jogging up to the Zephyr.
The next time you saw Bobbi was after you joined Coulson's team. After she was debriefed from her mission from Hydra along with Simmons, you got out the beers. It was a usual routine, after a successful mission, one of you would get out the beers and you guys would talk about every random thing that would come to mind.
Honestly speaking, you never knew when you started having feelings for Bobbi, it just sort of happened. You noticed more little things about Bobbi and you caught yourself staring at her more. You noticed how she would be fidgeting with the hem of her shirt when she was thinking or when she got nervous. Or the little twitch in her eye when she was upset or pissed off. You decided to keep this stupid little crush to yourself. Mainly because you didn't want to ruin the friendship and you also knew about her feelings for Hunter that never left. You pushed them aside, focusing on other things to 'forget' about those feelings.
May picked up your lingering glance on Bobbi, she confronted you about it. You did tell her about your feelings for Bobbi and why you wouldn't act upon them since she was basically your mother figure and you trusted her with everything. She gave you some advice of course, telling you to make a move when you had a chance, you didn't listen, you were afraid about what Bobbi would say.
You actually thought you moved on from those feelings for the blonde woman after some time but oh boy, you were wrong, so wrong. During the spy's goodbye, those feelings came crashing back down hard. You regretted not taking May's advice and giving it a shot, maybe you would've known what it felt like to be in a relationship with Bobbi.
Once everyone returned to the base, you went straight to your room which May was concerned about. You texted her on the burner phone you gave her during her undercover mission at Hydra years ago. "Please text me if you can, Bob. These burner phones are untraceable and I miss you." was your first text to her. "Honestly I don't know if you kept the phone I gave you." was your second text.
You texted Bobbi frequently but you never got a reply, you came to terms that she didn't keep the burner phone you gave her. You just didn't have the heart to stop texting her even if she was never going to see your messages. Your feelings for Bobbi never left, maybe one day it will but it was clear that it wasn't going to be leaving soon.
