To my bsf who's probably gonna read this:
I wrote this chapter early so I can sleep early. You can't get mad at me tonight 😁
Also, sorry if the chapter is kinda slow. I promise interesting stuff will happen next chapter.
Third person
Location: Ricci's Mansion, New YorkIt is currently noon and the Ricci Mansion is overflowing with people, much to little Dove's dismay.
When she woke up three hours ago, surrounded by her family and a weak throbbing in every part of her body, she knew that the shopping plans for today were cancelled.
Somehow, the youngest Ricci managed to slip away from her family and onto the roof of the mansion. How did the small girl reach the roof if there is no stairwell to access it?
Don't ask. No one knows.
The young girl watches as car after car pulls into the driveway. Her mother did tell her that people were coming for a meeting. She supposed it had to do with the fact that a man had managed to infiltrate the Mafia and the family and attacked her earlier this morning.
Dove heaves out a sigh. She hates large groups of people almost as much as she hates Mafia meetings, and now she has to deal with both.
Her tense body relaxes slightly when she sees Ella Petrov exit a black limousine. At least she wouldn't be completely alone.
She heaves another sigh as she slips down from the roof and back through a window in the second floor hallway.
Marcus informed her that some clothes had been delivered to her room. They would have to "suffice" until the family could go out on their trip to the mall.
Switch to Dove's POV
When I walk into my room, three large racks of clothes stand before me. There are pajamas, casual shirts and pants, skirts, and even a few formal dresses. I also notice the pairs of shoes lined up against my wall. Three sneakers (all different colors), a pair of combat boots, and fancy slip ons.
I start to feel slightly overwhelmed with the amount of choices I have. Clothes was never really something I needed to worry about. The pressure is on now.
I sense a person's presence behind me and turn around. My mother stands in the doorway, a kind smile on her face.
She has a full length, blue, floral dress on and has tied her naturally wavy hair into a ponytail. She looks super pretty.
"Need help?" She asks me. I nod, eager to pawn off the responsibility to someone more experienced in clothes.
My mother chooses a half sleeve white shirt and a pair of jeans. It seems too casual for a Mafia meeting, but then again, I was just attacked this morning, I'm sure these people can cut me some slack.
I have to admit, the outfit is quite nice and it's very comfortable. It also covers all of my scars nicely.
My mother guides me to the full length mirror in my walk in closet and smiles proudly.
"You look beautiful," she says quietly. I blush slightly at the compliment. "I'd like to do your hair...but we've run out of time."
She sighs wistfully and mutters something about doing it later.
