She cringes away from him and his foul smelling breath. He reeks of alcohol and nicotine. The two things that instantly give her a headache.
"Do it," he demands.
The girl's hands shake as she raises the loaded gun and points it at the family in front of her.
"I'll be very proud if you do this."
She bites her lip as his encouraging words reaches her ears.
She wants to please him. She wants his approval and praise. If she behaves, he might let her eat tonight.
"Please. We didn't do anything," the woman, the mother, begs in despair.
Dove's eyes water slightly when she sees how tightly this mother clings onto her son and husband. These parents beg for mercy.
The love they show for each other makes Dove sick.
Her hands still and she pulls the trigger, killing the boy first.
His parents scream in horror as they watch their child bleed out from the hole in his head.
She shoots the mother next. Then the father.
The world seems to stop as realisation hits the young girl.
She just killed someone.
No. She killed people.
More than one.
Bile starts to rise in her throat and her lungs scream for air as she stops breathing, but she doesn't let it show.
Sir would not tolerate dramatics.
"I'm proud of you," he says from behind her.
He gently takes the gun from her hand and places it on the table beside them. He raises his hand to place on her cheek, making her flinch away.
A sick sense of pleasure floods him when he sees her reaction.
Gently, he places his hand on her cheek. She sighs in relief and leans into his touch, letting her guard down and her eyes close.
Suddenly, his hand dissappears and lands on her face again with a hard slap. She yelps in surprise as she falls from the force of the hit.
