(Story based off me and Idk0325's roleplay. I need to rebuild Eclipse's reputation. I feel like I'm not portraying it good enough in the roleplay, and that it's starting to get annoying. Also, warning: cannibalism, sort of)
As Eclipse flew out of the portal to Axerivious, it couldn't shake what that dinosaur Fern had said. Her words were ringing in its ears.
Why not?! In this world it's either kill or be killed.
In a way, yes, she was right. After ending up on Lucella for no apparent reason, life was more dangerous. The infected were ruthless. Powerful forces lurked. And survivors wouldn't hesitate to kill it if they mistook it for an infected or a monster. Technically, the latter was true.
Eclipse alighted in a nearby tree. The infected can't climb trees, so it'll be safe unless it lets its guard down without realizing it.
It continued its train of thought. The thought of proving itself to be stronger was tempting, of course, but at the same time, that mysterious entity that had cursed it only allowed her to go full-fledge monster after it gets injured or attacked somehow. That was stupid, but it is what it is. Maybe the entity was drunk, or they cursed it wrongly.
It then heard scuffling from the ground. It looked down, and saw Fern murdering the mob of infected that had chased it earlier. It was a cool yet horrific sight. Fern had used only her spiky tail to take out the mob. Soon they were all spread-eagled on the ground, lifeless.
As much as Eclipse was grateful to Fern for getting rid of them before they resumed their chase, it also felt like a weakling. It had to depend on someone else to get rid of its enemies. It can't even do it by itself.
As Fern left the scene, holding two of the dead infected for whatever reason, Eclipse flew down and landed near the rest of the mob. Curiously, it broke a finger off and nibbled it.
It had to admit, it tasted pretty good, but it still felt quite wrong. Eclipse sighed to itself. It decided to make some new rules for itself. No more becoming a victim.
It decided to kill any prey it could find. Maybe eat some of them if it was hungry or in the mood. Whatever. But it had to at least stand up for itself. Lucella was a tough place.
"N-No more b-becoming t-the victim...I've h-had e-e-enough o-of being w-weak..." Eclipse stuttered to itself. It didn't sound very confident, but it was the best it could manage due to its constricted vocal chords.
It'll give sane people some space for a while. It flew off, ready to catch its first victim.
