Chapter Fifty-Two

[P.O.V. Zyston Woods]

The Dark King couldn't help but laugh in amusement after what I just realized. Pushing each other off one another, our swords hit each other again and again. It continued for minutes until he got the best of me. Kicking me hard right into a tree.

Trying to get the oxygen back into my lungs, he walked straight for me with determination. Before he could even get to me, the other four future Kings arrived. All taking their turn to fight the darkness for the role of higher King, just like the prophecy spoke of.

"We need to get that sword back!" Stryker Growled. "It is the reason he's so much stronger than what he really is."

"The question is, how are we going to get it?" Asking back.

"Let me get the sword back. His hate begins with me, and I want it to end with me. I also want revenge on what he did to me all those years ago. The human body I once shared with all those years ago saved me. The day the Dark King killed me right as he was about to suck my soul into his body. But my human, James, pushed my soul out of the way and gave his soul instead. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have been able to be reborn into this body. I want revenge for all the wolves and dragons he has killed in the past and the present." Travis pipes in.

"You're not the only one that wants revenge. Also, not to burst your bubble, but you forget one thing. We share a body, so how you plan on taking the sword by yourself?" Stryker asks. 

"By doing this." Pushing Stryker and me into the passenger seat of our mind. Travis takes the wheel and transforms.

Fully shifted into our wolf, Travis runs towards the Dark King. Biting down on his shoulder. We bring the Dark King to the ground. Biting and using our claws to dig into the Dark King flesh. The Dark King punched us hard enough. It knocked us off him, rolling away from us and trys to stand back up. We attack again, not letting him have time to get back up. Right as we reached him instead of getting to tear him apart again. The worst pain hit our stomach, letting out a high pitch whine. We watch the Dark King pull the sword out of us. We fell to the ground while the Dark King just laughed.

"Did you really think you can beat me? I have grown stronger over the years, and the sword increases my strength." He says amusingly and a little cocky. He stands up tall over us. 

Before, he could stab us again and finish us. He was thrown away from us with the sword falling out of his hand. Looking towards the source, it was Adriana using her magical abilities. She was no longer in the cage. She was standing out of the cage, with the triplets standing behind her. The Dark King got back up off the ground. He looked angry. Storming towards Adriana, the triplets fight against him. Even they weren't strong enough to stop him. With the triplets on the ground wounded. The Dark King grabs Adriana by the throat.

"I'm getting very sick and tired of you getting in the way." He says aggressively and throws Adriana off the cliff.

My entire world felt like it was coming undone. Gathering what strength I had left, and shifted into Stryker's dragon form. Jumping off the cliff to rescue my mate. With the wind in my face and listening to her scream. Just in time, before she hit the ground, I caught her and wrap my wings around her protectively.

Hitting the ground hard, rolling, I could feel a few different bones break. Looking around my surroundings, I have landed in the middle of the battlefield. There were quite a few staring at me with a look of the wonder of what just happened. Opening my wings up, Adriana was safe and unharmed. Tyler running up to us. He checks on her, making sure she was okay.

"She alright, just blacked out." He says, through mind-link.

"Get her to safety. The fight is not over yet." Giving him an order. Right then, a huge red and golden dragon landed on the ground. It was Alexander Dragon, Kane. The Dark King must have gotten him when he took over Alexander's body.

"Face me! Alpha King, and let us show Selene who her true king should have been all those years ago." He speaks in a tongue only dragons can understand. Tyler picks Adriana up and takes her to safety.

Getting up off the ground, The Dark King and I once again fight each other. This time we fought as dragons ripping and tearing each other apart along with him burning me, and I electrocuting him. Everyone that was on the battlefield has run away from the huge dragon battle.

"We can't stay in this form much longer. We're losing too much blood," Travis says urgently.

"What do you guys want to do, then?" Asking them both.

"We take it to the sky. It will be a better advantage for us up there. We will blend in with our surroundings and all electricity up in those clouds. Might give us enough charge to bring him down." Stryker suggests.

All of us agree on this. We strike the Dark King really well with our tail. Enough to knock him down to the ground, giving us time to fly into the clouds. It didn't take the Dark King long to catch up. By that time, we hid in the clouds. The storm was tense up here than down on the ground, making it harder for him to spot us. Absorbing the electricity, giving us a bigger boost of energy, we attack the Dark King.

[P.O.V. Adriana Braxton]

Waking up to the pounding in my head, letting my eyes explore. I remember falling and feeling so scared. It must have been too much for my body that I blacked out. Now I'm in Tyler's arms being carried? Where is Zyston?

"Put me down, Tyler. I got to get to Zyston." Telling him weakly, and a little horsed.

"I can't do that." He says seriously

"Why?.."

"For one, you're pregnant, and you're not really in the condition to fight. Second, it's kind of hard to reach him at the moment. He's not on the ground right now. Third, I told him I would get you to safety. "

"Lookup in the Sky, Adri," Raina says. Doing as she tells me, the entire sky was cloudy and stormy. Watching a little more, it looked like the clouds were lighting up, up there. I could also hear lots of thunder. "Our Mate is up there fighting the Dark King. That is what Tyler means by his, not on the ground. All the lighting and booms that them fighting. "

"Please put me down, at least, and let me walk." Begging Tyler.

"Fine.. only because we're no longer on the battlefield." Tyler sighs and puts me down. Instead of walking with him, I run off towards the battle. Tyler's brown wolf stops right in front of me, making me stop running.

"Dammit! Adriana, you can't go to him," Tyler says through mind-link, sounding upset.

"I will, and I can!" Yelling at him. He just kept his ground and wouldn't let me pass.

"Adri, listen to our Beta. We can't be there for Zyston right now," Raina says.

"Why? Can't we be there for our mate?" Asking Raina

"Because we're going into labor, we have a little life to protect."

"Maybe it will be a long labor, and we can still be there for him."

"I know you fear of losing him, I do too. But we need to protect our pup, our baby."

"But.."

"No, buts! If Zyston was here right now, what would he say? How would he react to your actions?"

"He would tell me to get my ass in bed, and he would also be pretty upset if anything were to happen to our child or us."

"Exactly, so please let's go back to where it is safe." Agreeing with her and Tyler, we head back into the stone castle walls. Now I know how Kat felt about protecting Tyler while she was pregnant.
