[P.O.V. Adriana Braxton]
Angry is what I'm feeling right now. I have been leading the Silver Moon Pack all by myself. For the last month and a half. The moment my mate shows up, he thinks he can send me away from the battlefield? Well, he's got another thing coming. When I get out of here, he is going to feel my wraith.
When the announcement came that the battle was over, that we also won, everyone down here cheered. Leaving the sanctuary to their families. The pack house was a colossal mess. Walking out the front door, the sight I'm seeing broke my heart. There were families with joy and sadness. Hugging and kissing one another, also crying over the ones they lost. The anger I was feeling melted into worry. Searching everywhere for Zyston, I couldn't seem to find him.
Until I spotted him talking to Tyler. They were looking at the fallen Warriors. I couldn't feel anything he was feeling. His side of the mate bond was blocked. Which only fueled my anger back up. Leaving the field he was in, I help the wounded. Helping anyway I can to help everybody.
All-day, Zyston hasn't said one word to me. He would only give me glances, or sometimes he would watch me. Like he was making sure I was okay. Also, throughout the day, my arm has healed thanks to Raina's werewolf healing ability.
After a day and a half of hard work tonight, everyone came to the battlefield. Where we burned the bodies of our warriors and the Dark Army. Zyston gave a wonderful and emotional speech to those who lost loved ones; after that, everyone celebrated the victory and sacrifice of those who died.
Zyston didn't stay for the celebration. Instead, he went inside the pack house. Chasing after him, he went to our bedroom we had here. Following him into the bathroom, he was getting ready to get undressed and shower. Looking at his body, he has dried and fresh blood all over him. Bruises and wounds, also some dirt. He looks tired and very worn out.
"What makes you think you can take me off the battlefield? Why are you not talking to me? Did I do something wrong?.." Continuing my ranting, his face was blank, and a little surprised by my outburst.
Just letting out everything I have felt since he left and arrived. He didn't say one word. Instead, he just listened to me. At the end of my ranting, I was sobbing about how much I missed him.
Looking at the floor with tears making my eyes blurry. Strong sparks touch my arm, then my whole body. He was hugging me while I was crying. Looking up at him with teary eyes, he uses his thumbs to wipe the tears away.
"I never meant to hurt you, Adriana... I'm so sorry, and I know I can never make up for your hurt... No matter what happens, I will always love you. More than you know, I missed you, too. You have grown, Adriana. You no longer fear being a leader or standing up for yourself. Because of this, you have become an even more amazing Queen. I don't doubt your ability as a leader. There is a reason I took you off the battlefield." He says lovingly, tenderly, and also with seriousness.
"Then what was the reason?" My voice croaks. He had this look like he didn't know if he should tell me.
"Your pregnant, Adriana." What he said made my heart sink and also sing with joy.
"This not funny, Zyston," Removing myself out of his embrace.
That is when he tells me about how rarely a turned werewolf heals their human. Also, my scent and how it's different. We also got into the conversation about him leaving again. To help the Stone God Kingdom. There was a lot of yelling and crying. Sitting on the bathroom counter with him standing between my legs. We were hugging each other tightly.
"When do you leave?" Asking with a heavy heart.
"Tomorrow afternoon." Pulling my head back to look at him. Green emerald staring into stormy grey. 'That soon?'
