49) Disappointment

Nobody had a moment to breathe ... Literally, because some kind of smoke has started to surround our heroes.

Shade sensed the danger and used Elemental to blow out the smoke but it didn't move.

Shade thoughts: Denser than air, I can't move it that easily, shit.

A rumble then echoed in the air, it was a gunshot. The blow was aimed at Hawk's head but Shade blocked him in midair and whirled towards the offender even though Hawk himself had moved to dodge it.

Shade: I doubt killing the Number 2 hero will ever be that easy.

???: I'm sure of it but trying doesn't hurt, am I wrong Shade?

Mustard then came out of the smoke with his gas mask, suit and gun.

Shade: Mustard, haven't seen you since-

Mustard: From the little incident with the Shi, yeah yeah, don't remind me, not that I did it because I wanted to anyway.

Shade: That's why you run away as soon as you had the possibility?

Mustard: Of course, I just hope those asshole are rotting in a prison or something. Anyway, where was I? Oh, right!

Mustard then raised his pistol towards the heroes, approaching the Nomu.

Shade tried to launch towards the Villain but more smoke came out of Mustard which covered his view. But before the smoke could put someone to sleep, Shade finally managed to unleash an air wave that managed to sweep him away. Unfortunately, once the smoke cleared, both Mustard and the Nomu were gone.

Hawk: Tch, Fuck.

Shade and Hawk then heard a thud. Turning they noticed Endeavor on the ground.

Hawk looked over at Shade who pounced on the Number 1 hero and put a hand on his shoulder and in a blast, Endeavor was in top shape again and woke up.

Endeavor: Ow, that hurt as hell!

Shade: Well, shouldn't you be the hell?

Endeavor and Hawk then turned listlessly to Shade with a disappointed look.

Shade: Get it? Because of Hellfire and- Ah, forget it.

Then the police arrived and took the 3 heroes away to question them about what happened

*Meanwhile, to UA*

Shoto and Shoka were sighing heavily on the sofa as their friends comforted them.

Katsumi: Ok, all very sad but I still have a question, HOW IN THE WORLD DID IZUKU REACH THEM SO FUCKING FAST!?

Izumi: He run very fast?

The two turned to Ochako

Ochako: Don't look at me, I don't know everything of him.

Eijiro: Can't you think of anything strange that happened recently?

Ochako: Well, nothing strange except that the other day he was called by Aizawa to his office, for some reason.

Mashirao: It will be about that villain they caught a few days ago. Kurogiri, right?

Enji then pinned Izuku in the armpit and started rubbing his head with the knuckles of his fist. Izuku then started begging for mercy.

Hawk: You seem like great friends, huh?

Izuku: Eh, my uncle is very nice when he's not all serious about work and all that stuff

Enji: Hey, I'm not that grumpy!

Hawk and Izuku: Yes, yes you are.

Enji: Ugh, shut it, kids.

The three then laughed loudly in the police station room they were exiting from.

Izuku: Right, how are your wings, Hawk?

Hawk: The feathers are making a comeback, but I think I'll take it as a day off tomorrow A little rest after this battle can only do good, especially for you, Endeavor.

Enji: Enji is good while we are not at work and yeah, I will gladly accept a day off tomorrow.

Izuku: See? Work as usual!

Hawk: You really only talk about work Enji, huh?
