chapter 21: the visit

♡3rd person pov♡

Ever since the day y/n snapped, she was as quiet as a mouse. she grew distant from everyone except Yams. She didn't say a word unless she was required too and when she did speak, it was mainly 3 word sentences. She also stopped coming to the gym during lunch. She stayed in her classroom.

♡three days later♡

It was midnight and Kei's phone began to ring. Groaning, he reached for his phone and answered it without checking the caller id. He heard sniffles and whimpers from the other side of the line and immediately checked who called.

y/n: "I-I went to pick up Hinata's water bottle that he left on his bike and then I saw Kyo with that one girl Gisa and-" her voice cracked as she remembered the sight of Kyo and Gisa. Kei's chest ached as y/n's voice broke. "He-he was... Suga-san?" not hearing a soft and sweet voice to calm her down. y/n checked the caller id then realized that she called

y/n: "Tsukishima?"

Tsukishima? Tsukki thought, surprised to hear his last name

T: "I'm coming over" he rushed out of the door and began to run to y/n's house.

y/n: "Don't!"

T: "I'm coming"

y/n: "Stay away"

T: "No"

y/n: "I said don't come" Tsukki hung up and continued to run to y/n's home. He always walked her home on Saturdays so often to the point where he didn't have to have his eyes focused on the dark road in front of him since all that was running through his mind was how hurt y/n sounded over the phone. She sounded crushed, broken, defeated. He sighed, not in frustration but worry and anger.

A few minutes later, Tsukki arrived at y/n's house, panting from sprinting miles to get to y/n's house as soon as he could. He rang the doorbell but no one responded. He tried again but he was still left with no response.

A few minutes after constant knocking and the obnoxious sound of the doorbell, y/n opened the door 

y/n: "Tsukishima... I told you not to come here"

T: "you should know this by now kitten, I'm not gonna listen to you"

y/n: "go away"

T: "no"

y/n: "go away"

T: "I said no"

y/n: "What do you want?" 

noticing the tears flooding down y/n's cheeks, seeing her in such a state only fueled his anger towards Kyo. Without a warning, Tsukki pulled y/n into a tight hug. y/n buried her face in Kei's chest. It was just the comfort that y/n didn't know she needed. Especially from him.

Tsukki waited but all he heard were sniffles. Kei slowly led y/n to her room and on her bed. He positioned her in between his legs as he wrapped her in his arms. There was nothing he could do but comfort her with his actions since he knew that he wasn't great with words and using them may result in y/n feeling worse. He started to play with y/n's hair as y/n's breathing shallowed. It was one of the things he knew he could do to calm her down. Eventually, y/n's breathing steadied, as she fell asleep in Kei's arms

T: "I've always hated seeing you upset" he whispered in y/n's ear as he kissed the crown of her head "but this is more than upset... you look broken. You know, I'll never tell you this in person but no matter how I treat you, you're my... best friend and... I care about you... a lot... a lot more than I should"
