Two weeks had passed in a blur of me and kai being marry and there was no difference in his grumpy attitude and out of the blue he annouced we were going on a honeymoon!!, finally i can wear my cute clothes i think, the fact is he made me incharge of planning the whole honeymoon so , I finally sat down to plan. It was a crisp Saturday morning, the kind where the sunlight filters through the curtains just right, and you can still hear the hum of the city waking up. I had my laptop in front of me, a cup of coffee in hand, and Kai, casually flipping through a travel magazine across the table."Okay," I said, glancing at him over the rim of my cup. "Honeymoon ideas. Seriously."He leaned back, stretching his long arms over his head, making his T-shirt ride up slightly. "How about we go to Japan? We could explore the temples and eat our weight in ramen."
"Japan?" I considered it for a moment. I loved the idea, but I was craving something more relaxed. More intimate. Something that didn't involve too much structure or travel schedules. "What about something quieter? Like a secluded island."
Kai looked at me thoughtfully. "An island could be fun. Somewhere we can just... be."
That's when it hit me—Bali. A dreamy mix of beaches, nature, and culture. I could already picture us sipping cocktails by the ocean, wandering through lush jungles, and waking up in a villa overlooking the sea. It felt perfect.
I grabbed my laptop and started pulling up options. "How does Bali sound?"Kai's eyes lit up. "Bali sounds perfect."---The days leading up to the honeymoon were a blur of last-minute preparations and guest coordination. But in the back of my mind, the thought of Bali kept me going. I booked us a private villa, complete with its own infinity pool, tucked away in the hills of Ubud. We'd have time to explore the island—its beaches, temples, and hidden waterfalls—but there'd be plenty of moments where it would just be the two of us, doing nothing but enjoying the moment. On the flight over, I kept sneaking glances at Kai as he dozed next to me. I felt a warm feeling in my chest that i could not describe.---When we arrived in Bali, it felt like stepping into another world. The air was warm and fragrant, filled with the scent of frangipani and the distant sound of waves crashing against the shore. Our driver took us through narrow, winding roads lined with rice terraces and small villages. It was breathtaking. The villa was even more stunning in person. A wooden structure with floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the jungle. There was a sense of serenity in the air, like time itself had slowed down just for us. The first thing we did was kick off our shoes, slide open the glass doors, and dive straight into the pool. It was the most refreshing dip I'd ever had, the water cool against my skin, the view stretching out endlessly before us.That first evening, we ordered room service, a mix of local Balinese dishes—nasi goreng, satay, and fresh tropical fruits. We ate on the terrace as the sun began to set, the sky transforming into a canvas of pinks and oranges. Kai had his arm around me, pulling me close as we sipped on cocktails and let the soft hum of cicadas and the distant roar of the ocean fill the silence.
"I think this might be heaven," I said softly, resting my head on his shoulder.
Kai chuckled, kissing the top of my head. "If it's not, it's close."---The days blurred together in the best possible way. Some mornings we would wake up with no agenda, lounging by the pool, talking about everything and nothing. Other days, we'd rent a scooter and ride through the countryside, stopping at temples like Tanah Lot and Uluwatu, where we watched the sunset from a cliffside, hand in hand. One afternoon, we went on a guided trek through the rice paddies. Our guide told us stories of
Bali's history, its culture, and the importance of the land to the Balinese people. Kai, ever curious, asked a million questions, and I loved watching him soak it all in. The lush greenery, the quiet flow of water through the terraces, the distant hum of village life—it was all so peaceful. We stopped for lunch at a small warung, a local eatery, where we ate gado-gado and sipped on fresh coconut water.
Our honeymoon wasn't just a trip; it felt like an awakening—a chance to pause and simply exist together, away from the pressures of life. The quiet mornings, the laughter-filled afternoons, and the starry nights spent curled up on the terrace—it was everything I had dreamed of and more.---On the last day, we woke up early to catch the sunrise. We stood at the edge of a cliff, the ocean below us, the sky slowly lighting up with shades of gold and lavender. Kai wrapped his arms around me from behind, resting his chin on my shoulder.
"Do we have to go back?" I murmured, half-joking.
He smiled, his breath warm against my ear. "We don't have to. But I think we'll bring a little bit of this with us when we do."
I smiled,as the first rays of sun broke over the horizon. He was right. This wasn't the end of something, but the beginning of everything else.
And as we stood there, the world stretching out before us, I knew that wherever we went next, as long as it was with him, it would always feel like paradise.
