Your dreams were filled with black and red. The blackness held you down, suffocating you as you tried to wrench yourself from its grasp. As if it was water, and you were a sinking stone. You couldn't find your way out. The only light you had to guide you was the occasional brilliant shock of red. It never stayed constant, it swayed and cracked, and all together disappeared. Leaving you in the nothingness.
Things slowly started to come to you. You could see shapes in the haze, and you tried to pull yourself towards them. The shadows surrounding you started to solidify, and you were finally able to tell what they were. An ice cold visor staring daggers at you. The violent crimson blade of a saber in your hands. And black. Black cloth, paired with a gentle swaying motion.
The final picture snapped you further into consciousness, because it didn't fit with the horror of the images before it. You racked your brain trying to determine what that image was, but your thoughts were too muddled.
You opened your eyes, and were surprised to find yourself in the hospital wing. What had happened after your fight? A nurse popped her head around a thin curtain. "Oh you're awake!" Her tone was weary, you weren't sure why she looked so dejected. Wasn't it good that you woke up? "What happened?" The words bubbled to your lips without you giving yourself permission to speak them. "I don't know, all I know is that I was supposed to immediately send you to the Command Center when you woke up." No recovery time. "Command center?" You asked. "I don't know the specifics, but Commander Ren himself demanded you go there the minute you came to. I wouldn't suggest keeping him waiting."
Commander Ren. Oh hell. You jumped off the side of the bed, seriously did everything have to be so damn high up on this planet? You stripped off the thin gown they had put you in and put your uniform on. Every button you connected sent an ache up your arm. How did Ren use that saber every day and not spend all his nights in the hospital? You held it for all of 5 seconds and you felt like you had been hit by a speeder.
You made your way out of the hospital wing and towards the Command Center. Though you had never been there before, you had a general idea of where it was. Starkiller was very practically laid out, the hospital wing was close to the training centers, the cafeteria was close to the showers and barracks, and the Command Center was in the very heart of Starkiller base. The safest place for the most high valued people. Hence why you had never stepped foot there. You were disposable, like Hux had said. Perhaps that's what Commander Ren was going to do with you now. Dispose of you.
You found the door to the Command Center guarded by two Stormtroopers. "Um, Commander Ren is expecting me?" You told them, although the uncertainty of your voice made it sound like more of a question. "And who are you?" One guard asked, though he had a helmet, it seemed like he was rolling his eyes behind it. Why did everyone think so little of you? You weren't sure if Commander Ren knew your name or not, it'd probably be better for you if he didn't. But you weren't sure if introducing yourself as the way he definitely knew you would be such a good idea either.
"Well? Do you know your own name?" The trooper scoffed at you. "I'm the girl that held his lightsaber to his throat." You snapped at him. Probably not a smart thing, to flaunt what you had done, but it definitely shut him up. He turned without another word and let you through the doors.
The Command Center was flushed with people. Officers, troopers, the occasional Droid too. It was absolute chaos, everyone walking a brisk pace to get where they needed to be, about a hundred different doors lined along a narrow hallway. You weren't sure which was Commander Ren's.
"You." Hux called, his nasally voice dripping with condescension. You turned to face him, wishing you could turn tail and run for it. "Yes sir?" Ugh, you hated having to be polite to this prick. "I believe Commander Ren demanded your presence as soon as you awoke. Why are you keeping him waiting?" Don't punch him in face, don't punch him in the face. "I did come as soon as I woke up, but I'm not exactly sure where to find him. It's a mad house in here." Hux scoffed and indicated for you to follow him.
