Josephine and her Friends on their way to the stream

*Edith," why did you keep us waiting, she is usually the first to speak because they all knew her as an action woman. Josephine replied am sorry guys because of too much work at home. Eli the calm friend, alright let's go before the sun comes out.

Josephine phone rang
That was Josephine's younger brother calling.
*Josephine," hello ike, how are you doing?  He replied, sister am not fine *Josephine, what happened? *Ike, is my boss, he threatened to throw my thing out if I don't bring his balance *Josephine, what sort of problem is this, okay I have heard you let me see what I can do about it. ike reply, okay sister please take good care of yourself for me. Josephine," I will and you too.

Call end

What is the problem? Eli asked. *Josephine, is my brother, *Edith, what happened to your brother?

*Josephine," he's having issues with his boss. *Eli, again, so what is the matter this time around? *Josephine," his boss is demanding for his balance and to me, if you beat me from now to next tomorrow you wouldn't beat any money out of this whole body.

Immediately tears drop out of her eye.

*Eli," you know you don't have to cry, what I know is that God is in control, you just have to have faith and believe in yourself.

The next day on her way to the market to sell her groundnut as usual.

GROUNDNUT!!!!!!!!!!

Josephine turned around to see who was calling the groundnut when she turned around she saw a man standing beside a building.

*Josephine, good day sir you called groundnut. Jasper was the guy that called her *Jasper," so how do you sell your groundnut? Josephine replied, the big cup is 100 naira and the small cup is 50 naira while this one is 200 naira. I told her to give me 150 naira. She replied okay sir, then I asked her why she is not in school or if she was done with her school. She told me that she is not yet done with her academies. I asked her why she replied, it is a long story.

I told her that I would love to hear her story but instead maybe another day she gave me the groundnut I ordered for, I gave her, her money and she left.

Jasper is at home.

Am now at home resting when Dennis, my friend, came to see me. How are you Dennis asked? I reply as you can see I am fine, then I ask him what he's up to.

He looked at my face and saw how changed it is was *Dennis, why are you like this? What is the problem? I replied to him with "you won't understand" he insisted I tell him what the problem is, I never wanted to tell him what the problem is because I know he will end up mocking me. His pressure was too much so I had no other option than to tell him.

Is about one lady I met today, he looked at me and laugh is that why your face is like this, I told him after I saw her since then I haven't been able to get her off my mind to worst it all I have been smiling all to myself, Dennis look at me in the eye and tell me, my friend is in love. I replied to him that's love at first sight for you. He asks Me what the lady's name is. I forgot to ask her for her name. Dennis told me someone I don't even know her name that am here killing myself for;

Dennis stupid friend of mine instead of him encouraging me on how to get to meet this lady in question he's busy making jokes with it, so I had to leave the compound for him and went inside.

Two weeks later.

One day I was coming back from  Dennis' place where I went to eat since I couldn't cook because I didn't have money. I saw Josephine coming back from the market. I stood for a few seconds and asked myself if this is not the same girl I met two weeks ago, I walked up to her.

Excuse me, good day as I greet her she replies " well-done sir, do you want to buy?'' I replied, no I don't want your face to look familiar. Are you not the same lady I met weeks back? She looked at my face and told me am sorry sir. I can't remember your face, the man that bought 150 groundnuts beside that building like two weeks ago.

*Josephine, oh now I remember, the longest time you travel or what? Abraham," That question should be for you where have you been all this while, she replied, I have been around, hope there is no problem. I told her, actually you promised me something that's why I have been looking for you.

She told me she can't remember promising me anything, so I had to recall what she promised me by telling her she promised to tell me her story, she looked at me and smiled. Is that the promise? She asks. But I am sorry I can't tell you because as you can see I am on my way to sell this groundnut and I have to finish it before evening. I promise not to take much of her time.

We two sit at a block rage for an uncompleted building then she narrates to me the story of her life.

I and my family were once rich we lived in the city but things changed after my mom, dad and my brother had an ancient but my brother was the only person that survive it, I and my brother had to relocate to my aunt's house here in the village since the bank took all my father's property because of the money he borrowed for his business.

I asked her what about her brother. She told me that her uncle abandoned them but the only person that accepted them was their aunt. She started mistreating them so that she had to send her brother to go and learn handwork at the age of 16.

I feel her pain and she tries to cry, you don't have to cry because I am here for you so you don't have to cry. *Josephine, now my brother's boss, is threatening to send my brother out if he doesn't complete his payment before the end of this month.

Abraham," is terrible but don't worry, me and my friend have a job we are working on that we will be paid in the next two days. Maybe from there I will be able to support you. She was very happy to hear that from me, thank you so much, my God will continue to bless you.

Abraham," can I ask you for a favor? she replied what could that be?'' I told her if we can be close friends!!!! She told me we can but she can't be my girlfriend because she is not ready to go into any relationship now. I replied to her, your wish is my command ma, she stood up and told me, I have to be on my way now before it gets late. As a gentleman I had to reply to her with a calm and smooth tone, okay that won't be a problem just be safe and more sales...

She waved onto me and left...
