❝Day one and I already hate it.❞

Y/N Diggory leaned against the window and looked out, rewinding the last two weeks in her mind.

The spell had worked and now, in the eyes of other people, she was not Y/N Diggory but Zelda Adams.

But every spell had a loophole.

"The minute your werewolf form shows itself, the spell will be broken," Professor McGonagall had said. "But as you are not a true Animagus but a Hybrid, we have an advantage.

"If a part of your werewolf is revealed, let us say- your fangs, for example, the spell will be broken to only the people who witness it. You will look like yourself to that person but to others, you will look like Zelda."

"So I can change my eyes or something in front of you and you can see me?" asked Y/N. "But the spell won't be completely broken? Others will still see Zelda Adams?"

"Yes, that is correct."

So that was what happened. Y/N tried exposing her werewolf abilities in front of McGonagall, Rebekah, and Sirius and they saw Zelda Adams changing back into Y/N. Though when Y/N looked in the mirror, she still saw Zelda.

"So as long as I don't turn into a full werewolf, I'll keep looking like Zelda?"

"Yes," said Professor McGonagall. "So you need to be extremely careful, Y/N. You must proceed with caution wherever you go and never let your werewolf abilities show. Especially not in front of Snape and the Carrows."

"I can show myself to my friends, right?"

"Only the trustworthy ones. Do not forget that you are still wanted by You-Know-Who. I would suggest taking a sip of wolfsbane every day just to make sure you don't reveal yourself by accident."

"Argh. Wolfsbane tastes like goblin piss. Can I at least take my dagger with me?"

"I. . . suppose. But do keep it hidden."

"That won't be a problem."

Y/N patted Atlas, which was strapped on her thigh under her Gryffindor robes. Even though she was surrounded by people in the compartment, she felt vaguely alone.

This was the first time Y/N had travelled through the Hogwarts Express without Harry, Ron, and Hermione so she felt like a totally different person - she was a totally different person but mentally, she didn't feel like herself without the three most important people in her life.

Professor McGonagall had advised her on leaving most of her things at the Potter Mansion, things that might reveal that she wasn't Zelda. So Y/N had to keep Cedric's locket and Harry's bracelet at home. She didn't even take Dotter the cactus with her, as much as it hurt her to leave it at home.
