Four years later...
The air was thick with anticipation, as hundreds of wizards and witches gathered around the stadium, pushing each other to get to their seats. Children were screaming, teenagers howling, and adults tapping their feet in excitement.
The year was 2002 and it was the 424th edition of the Quidditch World Cup. England versus Wales.
Puddlemere United versus Holyhead Harpies.
"Friends and family of a player!" said Martha Bells, reading the names on the tickets. "Top seats, sir, completely reserved for you all."
"Thank you, Martha," said Harry, as he led the rest of them up the long stairs.
"Now that treatment, I could get used to," said Ron.
"Weasel, you have your own chocolate frog, isn't that enough?" said Rigel.
"It's okay, Diggory, no need to be jealous," said Ron, grinning as he patted Rigel on the back.
Rigel rolled his eyes.
"Can your head get any thicker, Ron?" teased Fred.
"Yeah, you're starting to sound a little bit like Percy," said George.
"Oh, shut up," said Ron.
"Now, now, boys," said Arthur Weasley.
After reaching the top of the stadium, Harry and the others took their seats, passing the snacks and knickknacks that they had bought. He looked over at the corner and saw Amos Diggory sitting there, with his fiancee Hestia Jones. He gave a small smile and a nod when he caught Harry's eyes, which Harry returned.
"This feels surreal," said Hermione. "Remember when we were here in this exact place, eight years ago?"
"Things were so different back then," said Rebekah, adjusting her glasses.
"Well, I, for one, cannot wait to watch my first World Cup match as a free man," said Sirius, grinning.
"Always the optimist of the bunch," said Rebekah, smiling up at him. Sirius kissed the top of her head, and while he entwined his hand with Rebekah's, Harry saw the big diamond flash on both of their ring fingers.
Rebekah and Sirius got married two years ago, after Sirius proposed to her during Christmas dinner. Harry could still remember that day like it was yesterday because even though everybody wanted it to happen, nobody thought it would actually happen.
It was when Sirius hosted dinner, inviting all of their friends and family. At first, Harry didn't understand why Sirius wanted to make such a big fuss, but when he got down on one knee and told Rebekah that he should've done this years ago, that he still loved her despite everything that happened, that he wouldn't make the same mistake again and let her go, and pulled out a ring from his pocket, Harry understood why.
"It's my first World Cup too!" Teddy said excitedly, his little legs hanging in the air, too short to touch the ground.
"Of course it is!" said Ginny. "Are you enjoying it so far?"
Teddy gave an enthusiastic nod and raised the small green banner he was holding, as high as his four-year-old hands would go.
"Go go Harpies!"
"That's the way to support your cousin," came a deep voice and Harry turned to see Kingsley Shacklebolt walking towards them.
"Yeah, look, Uncle Kingsy, I made the banner myself!"
Teddy lowered the banner for Kingsley to see. Harry remembered staying up all night with him as Teddy coloured the entire paper green with his color pencil. He also drew the talon in the middle and coloured it in golden colour.
