Potter Manor was bustling with activities that day. People going in and out of the house, yelling last-minute instructions, bringing in decorations, placing the chairs, and ticking to-do lists.
It was a bright summer evening, and the most important day in Harry and Y/N's life. Their wedding. It was also the most talked about event in the history of the Wizarding World, because the famous Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived and Quidditch Legend Y/N Diggory were getting married. Their proposal was talked about for weeks in the Daily Prophet and so Harry and Y/N had forbidden all reporters from attending their wedding ceremony.
Because this day didn't belong to anyone else in the world but them.
Y/N sat in front of the dresser, feeling like she was about to throw up any second as Fleur did her make-up.
"Are you okay?" She asked, seeing the look on Y/N's face.
"Did you feel nervous when you were marrying Bill?"
"Oh, Y/N," said Fleur, smiling. "Of course, I was nervous. All brides are. I know this is a huge commitment, that's why it feels scary. But think of how much you love him, and how wonderful it would be to spend the rest of your life with him."
That thought really did bring a smile to Y/N's face.
"I just want today to be perfect, is all," she said, fiddling with her locket.
"And it will be," said Fleur. "Because look at you! You look perfect."
She moved away and Y/N looked at herself in the mirror. She didn't know about 'perfect' but she thought she did look beautiful in her wedding dress, her hair in an elegant updo and her makeup perfectly done. The weight of it all began to sink in; it was happening, she was going to be married.
"I think I am ready," said Y/N, nodding to herself.
Fleur patted her shoulder with a smile.
The door to the dressing room opened and Y/N turned to see her mother Rebekah walking in. Rebekah's mouth was open in a gasp, and tears sprung in her eyes the second she saw her daughter.
"Oh, my darling," she said, coming up to hug Y/N. "Oh, you look so gorgeous, baby!"
Mrs. Weasley came in next, and she too gasped and wiped her eyes when she saw Y/N, followed closely by Hermione and Ginny, who all had the same reaction. They gushed over her appearance for a few minutes, before Rebekah pulled something out of her handbag.
"Grandpa Lyall gave this to me," she said, holding a beautiful tiara. "This is what Grandma Hope wore on her wedding day, and she had been wanting to give this to you ever since you were born."
Y/N picked up the tiara. It wasn't goblin-made or anything, no magical properties. It was simply a muggle tiara, but Y/N thought it was the most special thing she could have at her wedding.
Fleur helped her fix the small tiara on her head without messing up her hair.
"You look so lovely, my dear," said Rebekah in pure adoration, she kissed Y/N's forehead. "Are you ready, then?"
Y/N nodded, and they all left the room.
The sun dipped low on the horizon, casting a golden hue over the garden, where rows of white chairs adorned with scarlet and gold ribbons faced an archway lined with enchanted flowers that glowed softly in the evening light.
As the guests settled into their seats, a chorus of instruments began to play a soft, melodious tune, signalling the beginning of the ceremony. Y/N Diggory stood at the entrance to the garden path, her heart fluttering with a mix of excitement and nerves. She took a deep breath, her fingers brushing the intricate embroidery on her dress. This was it. It was truly happening.
