***Alice's POV***
The memory flashes before my eyes. My heart fills with hurt. Another pops up....
"Once upon a time there was a man and a women. They had friends that did everything with them. Soon both girls became pregnant. They wanted their children to love each other greatly.
So they went to a sorcerer. He used his magic to make each child equally good and bad so they would each be able to enjoy the other all the time.
The parents were filled with joy. They created a special land for the children. It was a place where they would always be together and never grow old. They could bring people to it as they pleased.
Soon the children were born. The parents sent them off to the magical Island where the boy and girl fell madly in love. The end for now."
The childhood story travels through my head. That's the story the spirits told me when I was younger. I always played with them, they were my best friends.
"He planned everything. He knew you would hate your life and come back." Peter whispers. I meet his emerald eyes. He studies me as though he hasn't seen me in years. It starts to make me uncomfortable.
I look away and turn to walk over the the cliff overlooking the Neverland Sea.
"Alice please...." His voice trails off. I shake my head without looking at him.
"What you did is done. I am going to need time to forgive you, let alone give you back my trust." I spit and walk away. Behind me I hear Peter speak but I am far enough away that the word are inaudible.
It feels right to be alone, that's how I have been for the past 16 years.
***Peter's POV***
Alice walks away. It feels like I have been stabbed in the heart. I never meant to hurt her. She was never really meant to find out.
I walk towards the camp. As I enter there is a strong smell, dreamshade. I emerge from the woods and into the clearing. All the boys sit around the fire dipping their arrows into tins of a dark soupy liquid. Felix is nowhere to be seen.
"Where's Felix?" I ask the boy nearest to me.
"He, um, left when the big wind came over us, sir, I mean Pan!" The boy stumbles. I roll my eyes at the boy and use my senses to locate Felix. He is alone not to far from Alice. I ignore them and send the boys to bed. I soon follow and climb into my warm cot.
It feels weird to not have Alice next to me.
***Alice's POV**
I curl up into a ball on the edge of the cliff slowly rocking back and forth. The past hour I have been falling in and out of memories.
I open my eyes into a dark room. There is a cackling, ringing through my ears. I am tied to a chair and a cloth is stuffed in my mouth. Soon I manage to spit it out.
"You said you would take away my pain!" I yell into the oblivion.
"Oh dear I will but we must be patient."
I try to locate where the voice is coming from but it echos through the room making it hard to pin point the exact location.
