***Peter's POV***
The sun rises on a new day. When I get out of my tent, all the boys have left for their duties. The quiet wind pulses the air around me. I wave my hand and my breakfast appears, I eat in silence.
Felix emerges from the undergrowth.
"And where have you been laddie?" I say not looking up at him.
"Places." He spits.
"Oh an attitude?" I spin around to face him.
"Not in the mood Pan." He walks into his tent. I turn back to my breakfast. I wonder whats's got him so mad. Once I finish eating I walk back into my tent to work on battle plans. The day flies by and before I know it the boys are whooping and hollering as the enter the camp.
I exit the tent and take in the view of my boys dancing around the fire. They all look so happy to be away from their terrible lives. I reach for my flute and place my lips above it. My breaths come out fluently casting a ghostly tune from the flute. The night around us slows and it's just the boys and the fire. They get more and more into it reaching for sticks to beat together. After awhile I stop and the tune dies down.
A figure flies out of the trees. The hair covers its face so I can't see who it is. The person comes up to the fire and it illuminates it's face, Alice.
Her hair is matted and her clothes are soiled. Tear stains streak her face causing it to slightly puff up.
"Alice?" I ask. She runs up to me and collapses in my arms. All the boys stare at us, I glare at them and they quickly turn away. "Baby what happened?" Her body stiffens but then relaxes. "Alice?"
"I can't say it," She says between sobs. I hold her head and bring her closer to me. Her sobs echo around the clearing. I can't help but feel a stab of pain in my chest to see her like this.
"Don't worry I'm here." Her grip on me tightens and she sobs even harder. We stay like that for about an hour. Soon the boys head off to bed and I am left with Alice.
"Why don't you stay here tonight." I say. The words sound so odd. Why would I have to ask the girl who has lived with me her entire life if she wants to stay? She looks at me her eyes brimming with tears and nods. I kiss her forehead and help her up. We start to walk towards our tent but she stops frozen. She doesn't move and it doesn't even look like she's breathing. Her beautiful eyes glaze over. Then she snaps out of it and waves her hand through the air. Another tent materializes and she leaves me.
It all happens so fast but I still feel the knife jab into my heart. She still can't be with me. I screwed up enough that she has to be separated from me. I take in a deep breath and enter my own tent.
I lie in bed for hours looking up at the cloth ceiling of the tent. What pains me most is I can hear the even breathing of Alice in the next tent over. She should be next to me.
When the sun turns the cloth a pinkish green color I get out of my cot. I didn't sleep a wink. I walk out of the tent and over to Alice's tent.
"Wake up beautiful" I say. Alice's eyes flutter open and she sits up. "What happened yesterday?" I need to find out what's wrong, I can't bear to see her like this. She stares at me and then takes in a deep breath.
"He's back." She says then her body falls onto the bed. I come closer and try to wake her up, but she is unconscious.
***Alice's POV***
I open my eyes. Peter is stroking my hair. I push him off and stand.
"You're awake!" He says standing abruptly.
"Yes I am thank you very much. Now I need to go." I say and turn to leave."Wait!" Peter says reaching for my hand. I turn to face him.
"Let go of me." I say pulling my hand out of him grip. His face crumples and he looks like a sad puppy. I turn on my heel and leave the tent.
I can't deal with him trying to win me back. Right now I still need to figure things out. And I certainly can't deal with this with another threat looming over my head.
I walk and don't look back. Soon I reach a small waterfall. Many large rocks decorate the air. The air is clean and crisp. I take in a refreshing breath.
"Alice!" A girl squeals in front of me. I look up and focus on the girl. Her complexion is very soft. Two icy blue orbs star back at me. The bone structure of her face is slightly sunken making her face appear to be a blank canvas.
"Filly?" I ask dumb founded. Felicity and I have been friends forever. She is one of the many spirits of Neverland. Each one has a different duty and or magic. Filly and I always used to hang out until one day she was sent into exile for using her magic incorrectly. She was forced to stay hidden for a really long time (I have no idea how long maybe twenty years).
"Hey!" She engulfs me in hug. "I have missed you so much. Do you know how hard it is to watch you but not be able to talk to you? Ugh it was practically impossible." I laugh at her enthusiasm.
"So what's new in the land of spirits?" I say making my voice sound whimsical.
"Ugh there's a new guy Brad. He totally likes me! Ugh it's so annoying. Your mom just issued a new proclamation that we are limited on our appearance time. That means I won't be able see you that often." She pouts her pink lips. I give her a big hug. "I have to go. But I'll see you later. I want to hear about everything!" She squeals. I nod and continue on my walk. The cleansing air releases my worries and I float freely.
***Peter's POV***
I sit on one of the mangled logs surrounded by boys. They are training for all the horrors on Neverland. I watch as the chuck knives at trees, and shoot apples off each others heads.
My boys have made a huge improvement in the last few the days. They all seem more committed and more alert.
I close my eyes and listen to my boys chattering. Something tugs on the inside of my head. It's a familiar sensation. I locate the person, they are on the Ridge of Southern Neverland.
"Felix! Watch the boys. I have some business to attend to." Felix nods and I envelope myself in purple smoke. When the smoke clears I am on the Ridge.
The person stands in front of me, his back facing me. He turns, an evil smirk plans on his lips.
"You!" I spit.
"Ah! Yes it is me! Son of Rumplestiltskin. Ready to finish what he started." He says in a dark tone.
"Never, I killed your father you can't be much worse."
"Ah a bit arrogant are we not? But all that will change!"
"I'm done with you!" I raise my hand and a surge of air uses from my palm. He goes flying of the edge and I hear his body hit the water below.
"Goodbye Jason." I spit.
Hah! Who saw that coming? So here's a long chapter for you to make up for the last chapter. Hope you enjoyed it. Thank you for all the wonderful comments! Love you Nevers! ~Starflower12359
