Time skip Nezhas pov

Its nearly mine and Aobings birthday, it's in a week actually, I wanted to give him something special this year, I fidgeted with my charm tugging the necklace at times trying to think of the perfect idea. What was the perfect gift? I kept asking myself, suddenly I remembered that jewelry was a gift you would give to a partner, I blushed still holding my charm, he couldn't have known that...right. Nah he mustn't have known given that he gifted me this back then, I shook my head and tried to focus. What does he like...the ocean, surely he'd like something that has to do with the ocean... maybe we could go for a swim, good idea but I want to give him something different. We dont always go to the beach but we try to go whenever we can and i want to give him something totally diffrent, something he can hold and admire and not just a memory. we might go for a swim too later. I could give him something handmade, yes but what. I kept thinking and looked around my room, I laid my eyes on a painting he had gifted me once, a painting of a whale, they are his favourite animal, his favourite species are humpback whales and whale sharks (self insert lol). I know for sure I can't draw a whale...but I can try the ocean, I know how to paint but I'm just not the best at it, at least not as good as Aobing. I remember sometimes when we went for a swim this scenery with the sun shinning in the water making patterns on the ocean floor, I thought it was the perfect idea. I quickly picked up a fairly large canvas and a box o' paintbrushes along with a box of fresh paint, this was going to need a lot of blue.

A week later

In the morning

I woke up full of energy literally jumping out of my bed, I put on my clothes in a hurry and checked if the painting had dried by lightly touching it, it was done. I stayed up all night trying to finish it with some details and highlights. I picked it up and placed it in a white box and tied a red bow around it before hiding it under my bed. I've also been planning something else, that is, after the party...I ran out of my room and just as I was heading to Aobings room when he came out

'AOBIIIIIIIING'' he turned around just before I tackled him in a hug, luckily not falling over with him on the ground this time

''HAPPY BIRTHDAY'' I shouted once more

''Happy birthday Nezha'' he hugged me back, I felt my heart flutter and it started to race ince again but I hid it. We went outside and the whole town was outside and shouted happy birthday as soon as we walked through the door

Authors pov

The seemingly endless crowd dragged the boys to the grand space they prepared for their birthday (where Nezhas third birthday was supposed to happen, it was fully repaired). There was music, dancers and a huge, and when I say huge, I mean a HUGE buffet with just about everything, from dumplings to rice to mini cakes. Of course, Nezha was the first one to gobble up a bit of everything. It was so much fun, and both the boys received a ton of presents from the citizens and villagers. They danced they sang, well, Aobing didn't too much since he was shy but Nezha always made sure the bluenette was having fun. During the whole party there were times when they would look at each other and simply stare. They didn't speak yet it seemed like thousands of words had been exchanged, it was clear...they both had something to confess, something to say but none of them had the courage to speak, the party lasted for most of the day and a few hours before sunset it finally ended

After the party the boys, the workers and Nezhas parents of course along with Taiyi carried all the presents back inside and into Nezhas room so the spirit pearl and the demon pill could peacefully open their presents

Aobings pov

Nezha and I began to open our presents, most of them were clothes, sometimes food, accessories, combs, expensive items, small sculptures and so on. I had longed for the moment to give Nezha my present, I was hoping he would like it, it took a very long time and it holds something special for both of us. After we FINALY finished with the presents it was time to exchange ours
