(y/n) hooked her arm into Drew's as they tried not to get separated in between the mass of partying people filling the streets. The first stop on the promised tour was a rooftop bar (y/n) usually frequented. Alone.

The place was her own little secret. She wasn't sure why she had the need to make it a secret, but she liked the idea of having a spot to resort to when she needed to spend some time with herself. Take herself on a date, as she called it. Despite having a view to the night life, where the messy and vivacious tourists and college students could be seen having the time of their lives, the fairy lit rooftop was cozy and chill. Opposite to other nights, she wanted company, and somehow, that not-from-around-here, genuine kind man she happened to meet at a bar was a great option.

"Just so you know," (y/n) started, as they finally got themselves free from the crowd and were peacefully making their way to the rooftop bar, "this place is kinda exclusive for me, so, don't tell anyone you were here with me."

Drew chuckled.

"Why's that?"

"I always come here alone. It's my," she hesitated, pondering for a few seconds if she was about to share too much, "safe spot. I guess you can say that."

Drew smiled at the description, a warm sensation taking over his chest at the trust she was putting into him. He could see in her eyes there was something more to it than she was probably willing to share, a special reason, but whatever it was, he liked the fact she was going to show him. She wasn't just taking him to a place in a town he didn't know, she was also taking him to get to know a piece of her.

"Any reason you're taking me there?

The girl shrugged her shoulders and stopped in her tracks when she noticed the entrance of the bar right beside them.

"It just feels right to take you here."

(y/n) didn't look at Drew, afraid she would see a hint of hesitation or fear in his eyes by how honest she was speaking, she simply grazed his hand lightly with a hushed come on as she took the first steps to enter the building, leaving the man to wonder what the hell she was doing to his heart, that started to beat faster and spreaded that warmth through the rest of his body.

They chose to sit on one of the improvised couches near the edge of the rooftop, having the perfect view of both the city and the barely full space. (y/n) went to get drinks, but in agreement with Drew she opted for non-alcoholic ones, stating it was for the better considering the plan she had for later.

"Should I be scared about that plan of yours?" Drew asked when she came back and gave him his drink.

"Of course not." she replied, hoping to assure him he had nothing to worry about.

"So," Drew leaned back on the the "couch","can I know why this place is so special to you?"

(y/n) took a sip of her mocktail as she stared at an airplane barely noticeable in the sky, and with a deep breath, she told the story she had never told anyone.

"This is the bar where I had my first heartbreak."

Drew looked at her, surprised. He wasn't sure what he was expecting but it surely wasn't something sad. (y/n) chuckles at his reaction and continued.

"I was seeing this guy and I was ridiculously in love with him. One night he took me here, and I thought it was like a surprise date or something, but he broke up with me instead."

The expression on Drew's face went from surprised to confused.

"He took you here just to break up with you?"
