1736—

I leaned against a vacant brick building, my eyes wandering over the the ton of species conversing. This town was full of many species, varying from hell's children to heaven's angels. Water-born creatures, Orcs, Centaurs; and many more.

Seeing Orcs that are over seven feet tall and humans that are half the size mingling together, selling goods.

My favorite spot in town was the wonderfully crafted fountain that was right in the middle of the town; It was big and full of fresh crystal-clear water, it was crafted by a fairy from France, she was killed off shortly after making this.

Her art was limitless, she crafted things no one else would. At the top of her fountain was a Fairy with her hands outstretched and water spilling from them.

I walked over to it and sat on the edge pulling out a hand-crafted notebook, its worn leather and soft pages smooth against the skin. I flip through it till I land on my most recent page, it was what I had to do today.

"Get fruit... check. Buy fresh meat," I continued mumbling to myself the world and people around me becoming a blur. I was shoved out of my own little world when someone sat down beside me. I look at the person and see it's the boy I'm usually seen staring at. His blonde hair was now slightly flatter and a look of pain on his face.

"Are you okay" I stop mid-sentence when I see his arm cut open and golden blood gushing from it.

I quickly get up and kneel in front of him. Without a second thought I grab his arm lightly and open my bag, grabbing out a handkerchief. I wrap it around his arm tightly, my hands sparkling with the glittery gold blood. It shined in contrast with the sun, dripping down my hand like it was an ornament on my skin.

"Are you okay?" I ask with wide eyes; the boy's eyes shine as he gives me a toothy lopsided grin, a small gap between his two front teethas well as a chipped top canine.

"I'm fine, thanks for the help." He reassures in a soft voice, I nod and stand up, wiping my hands on my dress, staining it with his pretty golden blood.

"What happened?" My eyes wander his face, taking in his features. My stupid liking for him grew as I took in his detailsfreckles dancing around on his skin like molten rock, pretty lips and sun-kissed tan skin, the kind of skin that you wanted to just see what it felt like. I must admit, I'd never spoken to the boy, but I've seen him around for the past two years.

I'd usually see him helping people, the shop owners or just people around town. The boy I ran into earlier, I'd see with him too, following behind the blonde usually; one could assume they were friends.

"I was helping Jade with her shop, she needed to fix the roof. Ended up falling and cutting open my arm."

I nodded and glanced at the wrap on his arm, the white linen fabric now a sparkly gold, he brought his free hand up to it and untied it. The wound was gone and healed, not even a scar. Leaving me puzzled, how'd he do that?

He slowly gave it back to me, "I'm sorry about... ya know, staining it."

I shook my hand and took it back, "It's quite alright... don't fret on it." I give him a smile and hold my hand out. "Pleasure to meet you, I'm Ophelia Phosphorus."

He gave me a smile that made my knees weak.

"Well, Ophelia... I'm Telephus Vasilius," he grabs my hand and gives it a soft shake before retracting. "How about I repay you with a date, if it's alright with you?"

I stared at him in silence for a little too long. I'd never been courted, let alone truly spoken to a person long enough to even learn their name, and that's happened twice now. I was getting to know peoplewas that a bad thing? I didn't really know.
