I fix the black pencil skirt as I tuck in the ends of my baby blue collar blouse; I look in the mirror as I put on the low-heel pumps. I tossed my brown curls into a ponytail, "This isn't over the top? What is over the top for them?" I mumbled and sprayed myself with my favorite Vanilla scent perfume. I grabbed my purse and phone before leaving my bedroom; I saw Adonis waiting patiently by the front door.
"Alright, Adonis, you be a good boy for Sarah and Sophie, okay? I'll be back before dinner." I said, kissing his furry head and leaving the house.
I took a deep breath and got inside the taxi, "To HWANG Enterprises, please." I said, handing the driver his fee. The drive was quiet, and my nerves were wrecking my insides, god I hope my first day turns out okay. My phone buzzed; I looked at the screen to see Jungkook had sent a text. I bit my lip and ignored it as the taxi arrived at the building within twenty minutes before 7 AM. I thanked him and got out of his cab; I held my purse and phone to my chest as I walked up the stairs.
"Alexie Romańo?" A woman in her mid-forties greeted me when I entered the lobby; I gave her a shy smile. "Good morning," I said; she nodded slightly. "I'm Mrs. Wickenburg, assistant of Mr. Hwang. Welcome to the company; I'll be showing you around so you can get familiar with the place. Now it's essential that you arrive twenty minutes before your shift and always have a bright smile." Mrs. Wickenburg said as I followed her around the building.
The company is an eleven-story building; I should be able to get familiar with the place quickly. We got the fifth floor, "This is where you'll be working most of the time; you'll be editing and being in charge of making sure the projects meet the requirements before the deadline." Mrs. Wickenburg said. I examined the office, "Okay, there will be a meeting around 7:30 AM where you'll be appropriately introduced to Mr. Hwang and everyone else. Here is your first task of the morning." Mrs. Wickenburg hands me a black leather sleeve.
I grab it, "Is there a specific deadline for this task?" I asked. Mrs. Wickenburg smiles, "Before the meeting." She said and left the office without another word. I walked over to the desk and reviewed the task; it didn't seem that hard. I just have to create a name for their first-ever fragrance for men and women. I looked at the design and list of scents each fragrance had; for the women, it was more of a black cherry scent with a mix of bark wood.
As for the men, it was sandalwood, tangerine, and bark wood. I pressed my lips into a thin line; maybe the women's fragrance should be named 'Fiery Cherry' The color of the bottle is cherry red and shaped like one. As for the men's fragrance, it should be 'Black Wood,' although it probably doesn't fit its design. It was a simple yet black crystal bottle; I jotted down the names and statements about why they should have that name.
I closed the folder and looked at the time 7:20 AM; I got up, holding onto the folder tightly, and walked out of the office. I rushed into the elevators and pressed the eleventh floor; I exhaled sharply and took small deep breaths. How am I supposed to get this right? The elevator doors opened. I see Mrs. Wickenburg and other staff members waiting; I walk over to her. "The task is done and ready to be approved," I said with a smile and handed her the black leather folder; Mrs. Wickenburg smiled. "Excellent; we're waiting on Mr. Hwang's son's arrival." She said; a man—I assume is Mr. Hwang was pacing softly back and forth in front of the doors.
I could feel my phone vibrating in my blazer pocket as the elevator chimed; I ignored it as a strikingly beautiful man walked out. "I'm sorry for keeping everyone waiting," His voice was angelic and a bit hoarse; it made the hairs on my skin stand up. Everyone, including myself, bowed respectfully as he walked to his father, "Nonsense son, you're right on time." Mr. Hwang said with a smile as he embraced his son. "It's good to see you," The beautiful man said, "Now shall we begin the meeting," Mr. Hwang said as Mrs. Wickenburg opened the doors to the conference room.
I felt my nerves go over ninety-five; I let out a shaky breath before following Mrs. Wickenburg inside. "Mr. Hwang and Young Hwang, I would like to introduce the company's new intern...Ms. Alexie Romańo, level twenty-one." Mrs. Wickenburg said as I felt all eyes on me, I gave everyone a shy smile and bowed. "Intern? Well, Ms. Ramńo, you must be an intelligent young woman if you're a level twenty-one." Mr. Hwang said with a smile; I let out a small chuckle. "I will do my best to meet your and the company's standards, Mr. Hwang," I said; I accidentally made eye contact with his son. "How rude of me; this is my son Hwang Hyunjin, and some may know him as Sam Hwang." Mr. Hwang said proudly as he introduced his son to the whole room.
My breath hitched as Hwang Hyunjin looked at me again; his lips were the prettiest pink and full. The tiny mole under his left eye was charming; his beauty was feminine yet muscular. He was gorgeous, crafted by Aphrodite, the Goddess of love and beauty herself. His hair roots gave away the blonde was hair dye; Hyunjin was tall and had broad shoulders that looked comfortable to rest your head on. He had at least two silver rings on his right and a Rolex watch on his left wrist; this man was wearing designer everything.
Mrs. Wickenburh and I sat beside each other; I fiddled with the pink opal ring on my finger. His stare was potent; it made me feel many emotions. I would glance at him every two minutes during the meeting; I could've sworn I would catch him with a slight smirk on those pink lips. It was almost like he knew that he was making me feel mixed emotions with his stare. This is going to be a very long week.
