- Sweet baby Jesus! - I exclaimed enthusiastically when I first saw Julia, in her wedding dress. - You look beautiful... - I put the champagne glass down.

Julia looked simply stunning. But I suspected her of wearing a completely different kind of dress. For as long as I could remember she had been trumpeting to me that I wanted to be a princess at my wedding. Therefore, it was obvious to me that she would opt for a classic princesque. For her, however, it wasn't so logical at all.

- Take a turn. - I instructed her so that I could see her from all sides.

The black-haired girl followed my instructions without hesitation. Several layers swirled in the air. Dress is very large, but not exaggerated. Apart from that, it looks very classic - the smooth, snow-white material was decorated with classic lace only in places.

- How is it? Do you like it? - She asked without taking her eyes off herself in the mirror. I'm not surprised at all, if I looked like that I wouldn't be able to stop looking at myself either.

- You look gorgeous, I can't wait to see Jacopo's face at the altar. - I smiled at her. - He didn't see you in it, did he?

The girl waved her head vigorously, smoothing the light fabric with her hand.

- Come on, you know I'm superstitious about this. - She looked at herself again. - Lil, I'm missing something here.

I thought about it for a moment. Yeah, there's something missing from the face. I was going to suggest a fascinator, but I think it's too associated with funeral veils, and a funeral at a wedding is something I'd rather avoid.

- Have you thought about a veil? - Asked the employee who had so far only been listening to our conversation. - It would go very well with your dress. I have some new models, I just need to find them in the warehouse. - She said, disappearing into the staff room.

- I don't know if I can see myself wearing a veil. After all, it's a sign of purity, and I'm not a pure lily at all. - She laughed softly and I laughed with her.

I rolled my eyes, though.

- No one pays attention to symbolism anymore, J. No one waits until marriage to have sex, it's not the Middle Ages. - I said.

- Maybe you're right... - she said, but as if without conviction.

- It can't, and it certainly can't. - I said happily.

After a while the lady came back with a whole bunch of veils in her hand. Julia was trying on each one of them, and my thoughts went somewhere else.

I couldn't believe that Julia was getting married. I've always known she would do it first, because I've never been drawn to marriage. I associate it with limiting freedom, and I hate limitations. I too will get married someday, but I have my priorities. First me, then others.

I have to make the Demonio name known first throughout Europe and then in Italy. More and more I am starting to think about my studies. They are somehow not necessary for my happiness, but it is always some new adventure.

God, when have all these years flown by? I remember my first day of kindergarten, when I met Julia, who did not like me very much. She always pulled my pigtails, and I returned the favor. Then we became friends and it continues until now. Today, however, I'm with her at this upscale wedding dress salon getting it ready for her big day. Touching even.

- I like this one the best. It matches your face and the whole dress. - I said while sipping my champagne. The veil, which was short but had several layers, framed her curly black hair nicely. - I know you like the cardinal, but it doesn't match this dress. - I shrugged my shoulders slightly.
