This chapter is dedicated to very special person! My fan #1 – El! I love you bestie

I am really tolerant as I can be, but lying to my face is not acceptable.

I sit with Eva in a café and we chat merrily. I brought her here on the pretext of talking about the banquet and our parents' relationship, but what I really wanted to squeeze out of her was her relationship with Ethan.

- I really don't know what to think about all this anymore. Maybe there's a shadow of a chance that they'll get back together. But then again, you never know with them. - I sighed and moved my fingers over the porcelain glass. - What do you think about all this? - I asked, looking up from my coffee.

My sister didn't seem to be the least bit interested in what I had been speculating about for the last ten minutes.

Eve was leaning her cheek against her hand and staring dreamily at the blank screen of her phone. She was clearly expecting some kind of message or call. Could it be from Ethan?

- Eve! - irritated, I nudged her arm to get her attention.

The girl shook her head gently and focused on my face.

- Sorry, I drifted off with my thoughts. Could you repeat that? - She asked.

- I can see that you have drifted off. - I sighed. - It doesn't matter what I said anymore. What's on your mind? Or who? - I added with a malicious smile.

Eve made a disappointed face.

- Say it again.

- No.

- Come on, please. I promise I'll listen already.

- We both know you won't listen to me. There's someone on your mind. Just because you look at that phone doesn't mean the mystery man is going to write you back. - I said when I saw that the brunette's eyes were looking at the phone screen again.

I couldn't stand it.

I leaned over the table and snatched the phone from her hand. Satisfied with myself I held it tightly in my hand and watched my sister having spasms and trying to take it from me.

- I'll give it back to you if you tell me who it's about. - I said putting the phone in my trouser pocket.

The brunette put her hands under her lanky breasts.

- What makes you think it's about any guy. - She gave me a penetrating look.

I laughed quietly.

- We're sisters. Of course it's about a guy. Otherwise you wouldn't be making winky eyes at the phone screen.

Satisfied with myself, I leaned back against the back of my chair and smiled triumphantly. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my reasoning.

- Okay, it's about a guy. Are you satisfied with yourself? - she asked me.

- Yes, I am. More details. - I demanded.

- None of your business. Give me the phone. - she reached out for it again.

- At least tell me where you met. - I took the phone out of my pocket and put it on the table.

- Through friends, friends. - she said and threw herself down on the phone that was lying in front of me.

I laughed quietly.

- An acquaintance of acquaintances. - I repeated quietly. - So a drug dealer? Or maybe a junkie like the rest of your friends. - I accused, knowing very well what the reality was.
