The Bad Guy

" Twenty minutes ago, an energy surge knocked out power across the entire pacific northwest. what do we know?" a military commander asks, " well, our first instinct was it was an EMP. but electromagnetic pulses don't have that kind of power. " another commander said, " NASA has ruled out meteor strikes or solar flares. the department of energy says it's not a power plant malfunction." a woman said, " well, sounds like we're really good a figuring out what it wasn't," another soldier said sarcastically. " this could be a prelude to a larger attack. I'm suggesting we scramble the fifth and sixth regiment."  the third commander said, " no, no, no, no. this needs a much more sophisticated mind. someone who understands technology. " the main commander said making everyone in the room raise an eyebrow, " you want to send a lab rat?" someone asks. " not just any lab rat. a lab rat with teeth. " the commander said. " you're not suggesting who I think you're suggesting." the commander raised his hands a bit as he tried to calm the situation, " I know, he's a little weird." he started but someone cuts him off. " weird? he's a psychological tire fire!" another commander said in defence. " but he's also brilliant. five phDs, IQ off the charts. and his drone tech is revolutionary! " the commander said. " you're sure he can handle this?" the third commander asks as he leans back in his chair, " he has a perfect operations record. remember the coup in Pakistan?" the commander asks, " no." the man replied as he raised an eyebrow. " or the uprising in azerbaijanistan? " " that's not even a country" " exactly. ad you can thank Robotnik for that. " the commander said. " I can't believe you're bringing that freak into this. " " neither can I, but ... we have no choice." 

a whole military fleet was surrounding the pitch field that sonic was the night before as they were searching for evidence. then a lard black truck rolled up as everyone looked at it as it came to a stop in the middle of the field. the truck door opens and some stairs came out before a man walks out. he was wearing fully black and had brown hair and moustache. he started walking towards the soldiers as one took the strap off his gun holder, " are you in charge here?" Robotnik asks, the soldier nodded as he said, " yes, I am--" " Nope!" Robotnik yelled out, " my--" the soldier started but once again Robotnik interrupts him again, " wrong!" Robotnik said, " name--" " I'm in charge! " " is major--" " Me!" " ben--" " I'm in charge." 

then a man pulled out a card in a wallet with a red symbol on it. " you've never seen anything like this before. it says I'm the top banana in a world full of hungry little monkeys. allow me to clarify." Robotnik said as the soldier looked confused at the man, " in a sequentially ranked hierarchy based on level of critical importance, the disparity between us is too vast to quantify. agent stone?" Robotnik said before walking away, " the doctor thinks you're basic." stone said, " I'm initiating a sweep sequence. ten miles in every direction should suffice." Robotnik said as he started clicking buttons on his robotic gloves as the roof of the truck opens. " is he still looking at me funny?" Robotnik asks stone, " yes, he is." stone replied. " tell him to stop or I'll pull up his search history," Robotnik said as stone turned to the solider and said, " if you don't stop looking at the doctor, he'll take a closer look-- " " I'm not deaf," the soldier said in anger and frustration, " and tell him his men report to me now. blah-blah-blah." Robotnik said before the soldier interrupted him, " excuse me? listen, pal, I don't know if you realize---" the soldier started but Robotnik once again stopped him and turned to look at him. 

" I'm sorry, major. what was your name?" Robotnik asks, " benning--" the soldier stated, " nobody cares!! nobody cares," Robotnik said. " listen, major nobody cares. Do you know why nobody cares who you are? because nobody cares about your feeble accomplishments. and nobody cares how proud your mommy is that you're now reading at a third-grade level. have you finished charlotte's web yet? spoiler alert: she dies in the end. but she leaves a big creepy egg sac." Robotnik said before looking up and seeing his drone fly out of the roof, " ah.. my babies. whoo! look what came out of my egg sac." robotic said as he looked at his robot in awe before turning back to the soldiers, " you know what I love about machines? they do what they're told. they follow their programming. they don't need time off to get drunk and put the boat in the water." Robotnik said as the soldier gulped and went quiet. " now you do what you're told. stand over there and the edge of your personal abyss and watch my machines do your job" Robotnik said before the soldier walked away. " can you feel it, stone?" Robotnik said, " I can feel it, doctor." stone replied. Robotnik turned and smiled at his robots, " it's evolution, stone." Robotnik said before his drone flew off into the forest and scans the area. 

sonic looked from above the trees and saw the drones, soldiers and dogs looking for him. but then he recognized the drone and gasps, " it's him. he found me" sonic whispers to himself before taking off to his bunker. sonic quickly started packing as he talked to himself in fear, " okay, okay. everything is fine. you played some baseball, got a little upset cause the man that hunting me killed everyone I loved, my power got out of control. lighting shot out of me and now he has found me." sonic said in a panic as he kept packing things in his backpack, he grabbed his goggles and jacket along with the little bunny teddy. " earth isn't safe anymore. time for plan b. mushroomville. " sonic said before grabbing the rings and was about to use one when the sound of dogs ad drones was heard outside, " oh no, they're outside. " sonic said as he ran towards his bookshelf and pushed it to the side revealing a secret passageway out of the bunker. but then he remembers something, he started patting himself down as he said, " where is it? where is it?" he looked around and found the family photo still stuck to the broken mirror on the other side of the room, he quickly grabbed it and looked at it with a sad smile. " I'll never leave you guys behind," he said before placing the photo in his jacket pocket before taking off through the passage. 

meanwhile, tom and (Y/N) were sitting at the kitchen table trying to bond together, but it wasn't getting anywhere. " so, how is school doing?" tom asks as (Y/N) looked up, " it's alright." she replied as tom sighs. then toms phone rings, he answers it, it was Maddie. " hey." tom said, " hey. " Maddie replied with happiness. " whatcha doing?" tom asks, " just colouring with Jojo and Rachel. " Maddie replied, " ah, that sounds.. half-fun." tom replied, " hey, exciting stuff here. we had a power outage. the whole town went dark. it was a sign telling me to get out of dodge." tom said as he looked at (Y/N) in worry, " oh, god. is (Y/N) okay?" Maddie asks, " she's alright. had a bit of a spook, we know she doesn't like the dark. but she was brave." tom replied, " oh good. wade must have lost his mind." Maddie said. tom leans on the kitchen counter as (Y/N) got up and went to the fridge as their dog followed behind her. " yeah, and he does not have much to lose. " tom said as he watched (Y/N) get a soda can out and gave Ozzy a bit of bacon. " how's your sister?" tom asks, " is she still trying to convince mum to leave you dad?" (Y/N) asks as Maddie could hear what her daughter said, " no, but she did tell me to check his phone for dating apps., (Y/N)." Maddie said as (Y/N) went quiet making tom chuckle, " the only apps on my phone are the ones that came with it." tom replied, " and the olive garden." (Y/N) said as she sat down on the table. " ah, because when you're there..." Maddie started, " you're family" tom finished. then the sound of the bin outside was heard. 

(Y/N) walked to the window and saw the trashcans near the greenhouse on the ground," dad, the racoons are back." (Y/N) said," no way" tom said as he also looked out the window. " the racoons are back. and they are in for a surprise." tom said as he goes to the kitchen draw and gets out a tranquillizer gun. " dad, your surprise better not be mum's tranquillizer gun." (Y/N) said, " she's right, tom. they're just hungry. and also, that's forbears." Maddie said. tom cocked the gun and said, " Good. now I know it'll work." " DAD!" (Y/N) said in protest, " I kidding, I'm just gonna use it to scare' em. possibly to death. love you, honey bye," Tom said as he hung up the phone and walked outside with (Y/N) following behind. " dad, don't" (Y/N) said. 

sonic, landed in the greenhouse and looked at the shattered flowerpot he broke," whoops." he said to himself. he takes one of the rings off the neckless and held it up, " okay. it didn't work out on earth, but that's okay. you're going to a safe world. a nice, safe world full of mushrooms. mushrooms that'll be your only friends. that sounds awful. I can't do this. you have to do it, he's found you sonic. and if he gets you he'll take you back to the lab and kill you, just like he did to everyone else. there's no other option." sonic said to himself with s sigh, he looked at the ring and takes a deep breath, but before he was about to throw the ring, tom kicked down the door. " SFPD...  pending background check." tom called out as sonic's pulled up his hood, tom looked at sonic in confusion as (Y/N) walked in too. " can I help you?" tom asks as sonic looked up and had bright glowing eye. tom screamed in fear along with (Y/N) and sonic, tom shoots the dart on sonic's shoulder. " ow" sonic said as everything started to go dark. as sonic was about to fade into darkness he saw the name on tom's shirt, " san Francisco." sonic said before falling to the ground and the ring portal opens and the neckless fell through and landed on top of a building. " no" sonic said before he faded into darkness. tom and (Y/N) stood there in shock, " Dad, you shot someone" (Y/N) said in shock as tom nodded, "I know."
