"You're sure Mom and Dad are out?" Danny shifted into his ghost form and floated in the lab. "Because we've already seen how well Danny Phantom and them go together."
Jazz snorted. "They'll be gone ages, making some speech to Amity Park about a 'Ghost Free Tomorrow'. It's kind of nice that they're recognised for their hard work, you gotta admit."
"Yeah, but not when it includes me!" Danny floated up to the top shelf of a vast cabinet, and pulled out what looked very much like a thermos with a large Fenton logo on the side. "What's this for? Ectoplasmic soup?"
"Pass it here." Jazz caught the thermos, and studied it. "Hmmm, as Dad would say, this is,"
They caught each other's eye with a mischievous grin. "A Thermos with the word 'Fenton' on it," The two spoke simultaneously, before both snorting in amusement.
"For eccentric ghost hunters, you have to admit, they're pretty predictable." Jazz noted.
"You got that right. Hey, look, a fishing rod, with the word 'Fenton' on it as well, I bet. And... dentures? It says, 'Fenton Chompers', strange kind of weapon. And... lipstick? Over there... Oh, um... I don't wanna know!" Danny floats back down, shivering. "Some of this stuff scares me."
"Oh, the irony." Jazz laughs. "At least you're getting better."
"Better at what?"
"Those 'awesome ghost powers' you have. You are soo loosing this bet!" Jazz fiddled with the Thermos, opening the cap and looking down it. "Hey, Danny?" Jazz walked over to Danny, the opened end facing him.
"No, I'm not. I bet I won't! Yeah, what about it?"
"See, look at these things on the side, buttons. I bet this one-" She pressed something green and felt with a certain dread that yet another throwaway device was working.
"Jazz! It's glowing! Stop – stop pointing that thing at m-EEEEEE!" Danny yelped as he became trapped in a blue ray and dragged into the Thermos.
"Ohhhh, that's what it does." Jazz shakes herself. "I mean, Danny, are you alright in there?"
There was a loud knock. Jazz unscrewed the Thermos and looked inside. "Danny? Dan-ny? Darn it, which button did I press?" She pressed a red button and with more than a sigh of relief, Danny burst out. "Danny! I'm so sorry! Are you alright?"
"Besides being stuffed into a soup container half the size of my head? I'm fine!" Danny stopped laughing on seeing Jazz's stricken expression. "No, seriously. I'm fine. You could even call me 'souper!'"
Jazz's eyebrows dropped. "Okay, that was a bad pun, little bro." She looks at the Thermos again. "Hey, you know, this could be pretty useful, if it does what it says it does. We could even-"
"Jazz, you're getting distracted. Team Phantom needs training!" Danny transformed back and picked up a substantial Fenton Blaster. He handed it to Jazz, who promptly fell over. "Uh, maybe not with that one, though."
After sorting out some smaller guns for Jazz, Danny got some targets, little wooden ghosts painted with antiplasm (The Spook Simulators) his parents had attached to sticks and driven into little metal holes in the lab designed for that purpose. After he had gotten the last Spook standing up (well, floating) He ran back and sat next to Jazz. His sister looked at him. "Why are we doing this, again?"
"Because I saved you twice in two days, and I can't always be there!" Danny looked up at her. "Now... do you know how to shoot the Blaster?"
"Uh... no." Jazz looked at Danny, who shrugged his shoulders.
