We're a Lot Alike, You and I

More and more of our classmates went out to the training grounds, giving their all and then some. When it came to be Denali and Benny's turn, I watched closely at their attacks and unlike Ric and I, they were on opposing teams. Benny had kept hidden in alley way and since this was the first time seeing him in an actual life like fighting situation, I was curious to see how he would incorporate his kind of quirk. 

His ability was all about emotions so it was hard sometimes to see how that could be used in a strength fight but once again, he never ceased to amaze me. Denali crept across an intersection with Tsu and I found it funny that the other animal quirked person was paired with her. The girls kept low and as they came to an entry way maybe a block away from Benny, I spotted Sero making his way towards them.

 Sero was cunning and we joked that he was like the Spiderman of our class as he often used his tape to swing around. Benny peeked his head out slightly, watching the girls and as he locked eyes with Sero, two lines of tape sprung out, entrapping Denali as she squirmed and fell forward. 

Tsu turned quickly enough to dodge a swing from Sero before grabbing Denali and using her tongue to pull them out of his grasp as she swung to a nearby store entry. It was pretty awesome seeing Tsu use her tongue as a grappling hook but at the same time, it made me wonder what it felt like to be grabbed by it. She often used it to fling or pull people out of harms way during training. Her quirk was pretty much like myself and Denali's, she could do anything a frog could do and it was pretty cool. 

After about 10 more minutes into their fight, Tsu was up against Benny and Sero while Denali was down for count. She had been knocked unconscious after Sero trapped her again, this time landing a blow to her jaw, halting her escape efforts. It made me wince, wondering if Todoroki felt the same when I had landed the same blow to him. It was as amazing watching them work, their quirks were amazing and unique and I was so engrossed in the action on the screens that I hadn't noticed the blonde behind me. 

     "Did you catch my attacks earlier, Lena?" a husky voice made me jump and turning around I was met with a pair of red eyes. Bakugou never instigated conversation, another thing I noticed that was off about him today. 'Had my battle shown him a new perspective of me?' I pondered, staring up into his crimson gaze. 

I smiled, nodding and glancing back at the screen as I said, "Yeah it was pretty awesome! Denali even pointed out the similarities between your tornado attack and Ric's," his smile faltered slightly as his gaze briefly flickered over to Ric and then back to me, his eyes narrowing. Guess he didn't like being compared to people. That did fit his personality at least and his reaction was the first normal thing he's done since I got back from my battle. I raised an eyebrow questioningly and he huffed, rolling his eyes

     "I don't take too kindly to being compared to some extra. My power is my own and so are my attacks and I'm pretty sure I could beat Ric in a fight any day," he ground out, gritting his teeth and crossing his arms over his broad chest as he took a step closer. I could feel the alpha vibes emanating from him and for a moment I thought, if he was like me, he would no doubt be an alpha male with his type of drive and aggression. 

I wasn't too happy about him calling Ric an extra but at least his confidence wasn't cocky like before. He was really good and he had just proven it but still, with Ric's repentance attack, I don't think anyone could beat him, not even the spicy Pomeranian himself. I giggled at the new nickname I came up with and he cocked an eyebrow in response.

     "First off we didn't mean to offend you, Bakugou. Second, yes it is still your own power and your attacks are you own, we just noticed that you both have a tornado type attack is all which Ric explained very well," he rolled his eyes at that but listened as I continued on. "Now third, since you like giving people nicknames, I have picked one just for you."
