Lena knew today was a big day and yet she still stayed up late the night before, nose deep in her newest spicy romance novel. It was getting to the good part how could she possibly put it down then? Studying herself in the mirror she poked and prodded at the fuzzy brown ears atop her head and the curls cascading around her shoulders. 'I should really be wearing a bonnet to bed, my poor curls are so lifeless', she pouted.

Skincare, teeth and hair? Check! Light makeup and outfit? Super check! She had been anxiously awaiting this meeting with her principal and after learning it had something to do with a school overseas opportunity, she had wanted to look her best. Rushing out of the house and into her car, she took off down the road nearly missing a few mailboxes along the way. Yelling from the neighbors could be heard faintly before being drowned out by her music as she let her excited thoughts consume her mind. If the early morning failed to keep her spirits down, the traffic was definitely succeeding.

Her music was cut short by a call ringing through her car, "Leennaaaa! My lovable pup, where are you? The meeting is in like 10 minutes and your car isn't here. You better not be late missy!" her loud mouth of a bestie nagged through the speakers.

She giggled at Denali's antics before responding, "I know, I know but traffic chose today to be crazy. I'm like 5 minutes away I just have to get through it all." She could hear Denali let out an obnoxious sigh and mumble something about leaving early next time. Lena only laughed, saying 'bye' and hanging up before pulling into the school lot.

Next to her Denali's head popped out of her cherry red Toyota and her grey, spotted cat ears twitched in excitement. She launched herself at Lena with a feline squeal and the girls twirled around in a fit of giggles as heavy footfalls join them.

"With all that high pitched squealing, you'd think Lena's ears would be bleeding," a deep voice chided, startling the girls as they whipped around, coming face to face with their two guy friends. Benny laughed at their startled faces and gave a cheeky two finger wave before engulfing them in a hug. The guy next to him, Ric, rolled his eyes and kept walking, his hands in his pockets as he whistled to the music coming through his earbuds.

"Aww, no love from our Ricky? Summer vacay turned you even more into an angsty teen, huh?" Denali pouted playfully as she pounced into him, hanging on his left arm. He smirked, wrapping his arm around her shoulder and bringing her close to squeeze her gently.

"Nah, I just wanted to fuck with ya'! Besides, I can't be needy all the time y'know," he chuckled as they all entered the building laughing and poking at one another.

Fifteen minutes later they found themselves all seated in their Dean's office as the said Dean sat at her desk, sifting through the papers strewn quite messily across the mahogany. She looked up at the four students with a broad smile before pushing a paper towards each of them and folding her hands in front of her with a sigh.

"This the brief description of the U.A. "Heroes to All" Transfer Program. U.A. is a prestigious hero university in Japan and they are offering a transfer program for U.S. students," she paused, taking a breath. "This is a rare opportunity and with you four being my brightest students in your grade, I think you would love it there. You would be spending Junior and Senior year there before deciding if you would like to stay there or return once graduated.

"There are dorms there and everything will be fully paid, all you have to do is keep your grades at a minimum B average and pass the hero courses of course. Any questions?" she looked around to each of them, her eyes steady but full of anticipation. Lena looked over the paper before glancing at her friends and nearly laughed out loud at Benny's facial expression. He looked like he wanted to hurl, cry, and laugh all at the same time.

"So, if we said yes, when would we be leaving? When does school start in Japan? Do they know of the candidates already?" Denali rattled off her questions and Lena watched with amazement as Mrs. Sherlan answered every one of them immediately.

After a brief murmur of discussion between the four friends, they all looked up at Mrs. Sherlan and gave her a nod. A sigh of relief fell from the Dean's lips as she clasped her hands together with a proud nod. Their school was a private university that taught mostly orphans, and in that group the only non-orphan was Denali.

She had both her parents and 5 siblings so the motherly vibes were strong within her and she often played the mother figure to the other three. Mrs. Sherlan was unlike any other Dean and cared very deeply for her students always wanting the best for them and for that they each were thankful.

They left the building all bubbling with excitement at what this new school would bring them and on a whim Lena called out the bright idea to get bubble tea as a way to celebrate. Laughing at her obvious celebratory ideas they all hopped in their cars and headed to the nearby bubble tea cafe.
