CHAPTER FOUR
just trying to help

⊱ ──────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ──────── ⊰

JULIET HAD ABSOLUTELY no idea how Barry convinced her to do this.

Okay. That was a lie. She did have a clue. It's called Barry Allen looks at her with his stupid green eyes and against all her willpower, she caves.

How infuriating.

Her and Barry were running — or teleporting, in Juliet's case — around the streets of Central City, stopping all sorts of crimes. Cisco, on the comms, then informed the two that there was a fire on Western and Third in downtown Central City and the firefighters weren't there yet to help the people inside.

So what were the doing? Going towards it.

"Barry?" Cisco's voice then echoed over the comms as Juliet teleported right outside the burning building, feeling kind of awkward as she stood there by her lonesome in an actual super suit. "Barry!"

"What?" Barry asked. "Did I miss it?"

"Considering you're not here, I'm going to go with yes," Juliet answered.

"Juliet's right," Cisco told him. "You overshot by about six blocks."

Barry sighed. "My bad."

Juliet then lifted her hands up, red energy traveling between her fingers. She focused on the fire and willed it to stop spreading so much and die down. Juliet doubted she could stop the entire fire, because she was still new to her powers, but she could delay it so people could get out, at least. A flash of yellow lightning — Barry — then ran inside the building,

"You there yet?" Cisco questioned.

"Cisco, there's fire everywhere!" Barry exclaimed. "Cisco, are you still there?"

"I'm trying to calm it down a little, Barr," Juliet explained. "Just . . . I don't know, bob and weave. Maybe jump."

"Yeah, all right, J. I'll leap over the fire."

What she said must've worked, because the flash of yellow lightning that was Barry brought multiple people out of the burning building. Juliet let her hands down, only for a running Barry to grab her in his arms and sprint away. Before she knew it, Barry brought them into an empty alleyway. While Barry calmly leaned against a dumpster with the hood of his suit down, Juliet ripped off her mask and stumbled back a little.
