"Who's calling it?" Luna barked as she sprinted down the hall, Cerberus at her side. Luke, somehow, was managing to keep up for once. Vader, of course, had no issue keeping up with her pace.
"Mon Mothma! I think she also hinted at the fact the rest of us can listen in. Mother's already waiting."
This is not going to end well, Luna thought to herself. She didn't know how many people knew that she was Valkyrie but that didn't mean she was ready to assume that everyone in the base knew. She'd be a fool to do that. Regardless, this meant that Valkyrie was about to become a known identity. Beyond that, she had to wonder what Mothma knew in the first place. Luna knew the Rebel leader was well aware she had been Eclipse, but after that?
What was that woman planning?
"Does she know who we're with?" the girl asked, even as she tried to count back days, just to double check and make sure it was an out of the blue meeting and not one that was previously scheduled.
"....I think? Mother talks to her a lot. Pretty sure she knows your Eclipse."
"Was!" Luna corrected even as they made it to where the Illusion was resting in a relatively empty hanger, ramp already lowered. She was on the ship in moments, passing by her locked down Delta that Luke had been working to repair during the mind-numbing trip to Minerva. In moments the girl was in the room that she and her partner always took their calls in. Padmé, as Luke had said, was already there, sitting on one of the fold-up chairs that were attached to the wall. Ahsoka was already on the call, the mark of Fulcrum sending blue light across her features while Morai rested on the perch they'd installed beside the Grey Jedi.
Not for the first time, Luna noticed that the symbol reflected the Togruta's facial markings.
"What are you waiting for?" Ahsoka hissed. The girl blatantly realized that she'd hesitated, balked at what she had to do, all too aware of the fact the eldest members of their group appeared confused. She could feel it in the Force. They didn't know.
They soon would.
Luna took a bracing breath and slipped into the hover chair she always used, mostly because it was like one of those spinning chairs on Earth and she felt as though she was long overdue for some of the joy found in the simple things of life.
She was regretting it now, as the leftover momentum slid her to her place on the table across from Ahsoka. Too childish.
Why did she care?
Deciding to do her best to block out the three presences watching them, Luna put on her headset and then proceeded to say the words that would doom her to her fate as her own symbol appeared in front of her face, informing the girl the voice modifier had been activated: "This is Valkyrie."
She pretended not to notice the shock rippling through the presences around her as Cerberus set his head in her lap, making her chair lower a little before it properly compensated for the weight. The girl, not for the first time nor the last, was glad for the Sith hound, running her hand over his head in an effort to keep herself collected, trying to push aside the nerves and anger that had appeared. Numb herself so she could think objectively and clearly. Valkyrie could not act off emotions, that was Eclipse's job and something Luna knew she would be making more use of soon enough. But not yet.
"Glad you could finally make it," the familiar voice of Mon Mothma said. "Now, settle down everyone." The Chancellor of the Rebellion waited a moment, likely allowing time for others to calm. Luna could imagine the room on the other end of the holo, filled with other members of the Alliance, like something out of Return of the Jedi. "As some of you know, we have recently received new intel on the locations of the core bases of operations for the Emperor's Hands. However, the data retrieved by Valkyrie contained more than simple base locations. We are still working on the logistics, but it is clear the Emperor has made a grave error, one that he may rectify before we have the chance to act on it."
