that same night was spent the exact same as the night before. everyone was too afraid to go back to their own homes alone, so jaemin allowed to them stay at his house until everything went back to normal. if everything went back to normal.

nari kept getting this weird gut feeling that wouldn't go away. something was telling her they should be much more worried than they are, and even though none of them were showing it, they were all as anxious as humanely possible.

unlike the night before, they were all awake past 12 am with nari. she also squeezed in-between all of them so there was almost no space upon the five of them. jaemin turned his head to her the same moment she lifted her eyes to look at him. he cracked a smile, telling her to stay calm without actually saying it.

"i can't breathe in here," donghyuck said, sitting up suddenly. "i'm gonna get some air." he said before walking out onto jaemins front porch. he wouldn't admit it, but he seemed the most worried of all of them.

"so i'm not the only one too freaked out to sleep?" jeno asked, sitting up as well.

"nope." jaemin replied, huffing. he twisted his body and turned on the lamp next to the couch, allowing light to illuminate the room.

"guys, what if the wish can't be reversed. what would we do?" nari asked as the thought ran through her head and the urge to ask couldn't be fought.

"i have no idea."

silence took over the room for moments until donghyuck busted through the door, nearing falling onto his face to close it behind him with heavy breathes. "people."

"...what?"

"there's people.. out there."

the four of them jumped up to the window with wide eyes to see what their friend was on about. walking down the street, with bright lights and huge guns, was a group of people dressed in all black with masks and goggles covering their faces. it seemed like they'd been looking for something, as they searched in corners and windows.

"come on." jaemin said, walking passed them and to the door that lead outside.

"wait." nari said, getting that uneasy feeling again. "get away from the door and windows." she said, turning the lamp back off.

"why?"

"just do it." the slight panic in her voice made them not question her requests any further and did as told. they all got back down on the floor as they watched the shadow of the people outside pass by. nari couldn't explain why she got such a bad feeling, but she knew something was off and wasn't willing to take the risk.

once they were sure those people were gone, they slowly began to get back up. "that could have been our only chance at finding out whats going on." donghyuck seethed.

"i can't explain it, but something felt really wrong about them," nari attempted to describe what she felt, knowing that it may have sounded crazy, "i don't know."

when donghyuck sucked his teeth and turned the other way, renjun was quick to reassure nari as he placed his hand on her shoulder. "it's okay, we believe you."

she avoided eye contact and nodded slightly, fearing she may have actually ruined their chance at getting an explanation or even a solution.

they spent the rest of the night talking, planning. something, anything. there seemed like there was almost nothing to do in a time like this, but they knew if things didn't go back to normal by dawn, they couldn't just sit by and do nothing. when the sun began to rise, and eventually the orange and pink colors meshed together faded away into a grey fog, still there was no signs of people, they knew it was time to go.

"we're so fucking screwed," jeno said, panicked, "there's seriously not a single person out there. how do you fix that?"

"can you relax? you being freaked out just makes us more freaked out." jaemin scolded as his face frowned in stress, visible lines forming around his eyebrows.

"we should go." nari jumped in quietly. referring back to their plan, they had to gather necessities and leave.

jaemin nodded. "right. let's go."

everyone began throwing random things into their school bags after dumping out the notebooks, folders, and pens that were thrown inside. they took food, water, toiletries, anything you'd need in your daily life as if they were preparing for a war.

but i mean, you never know.

once they were sure everything they needed was packed, they left.

"welcome to the fucking apocalypse," donghyuck mumbled.

"stop being so dramatic." renjun remarked back.

the funny thing about that was none of them could deny how much it felt like they were surviving an apocalyptic world. with heavy bags on their backs filled with food and water, not a single sign of civilization insight. it was awfully familiar to the shows and movies they've seen.

"i don't understand what this has to do with my wish... i mean, what exactly changed?" jeno asked.

"what do you mean what changed? look around." donghyuck replied.

jeno rolled his eyes, "i meant besides the obvious. like... do you think we're still in the same reality?"

the question made the others feel sick to their stomachs. the thing about it was, you wouldn't usually question or second guess something like this, but now, that was exactly what they were doing. after discovering the fact that they could wish almost anything to life, it was questionable and something they couldn't answer right off the bat.

as they continued to talk, nari spotted a sign taped to a wooden post. "guys, look."
